The hardware specs will deceive you, the Wii U has been said to punch above it's weight. The only console sporting a GPGPU. Having DX11 features makes it compatible with other platforms that current generation consoles can not do. Developers have to use the Wii U a special type of way to make games.

And is why the Wii U has announced games doing 1080p at 60fps. Also is why Splinter Cell: Blacklist for the Wii U has no screen tearing.
