What makes you opinion anymore valid than mine??? My opinion should be ignored because is has a religious background?

No but it should be wary of, letting religion into politics and governments leads to religious rule and you get a middle ages or a modern day iran, thanks but i'd rather live in a godless secular society, where I don't have to worry about getting stoned to death

Did you not read my earlier post. Middle Ages was not caused my a mere religion but a Church. A church is the threat not a whole religion or a faith.

religion is what a church pushes, faith is something personal, not public, faith is fine, but don't turn it into public, that's when it becomes religion and that is bad

No, Religion is fine. Church is a group. Religion is not. It is just a type of faith. I think we agree on premiss but not words.

You just like to play off of words like you did by attacking McCain on keeping troops in Iraq but refuse to say anything with Obama and troops in Korea.

Call it what you will, but as soon as it leaves the private realm and enters the public realm it is wrong, it has no place in our government or our politics, it is something that should be kept private and personal

Oh I want All US troops brought back, but you gotta take it one step at a time, first Iraq then our overseas bases.

Oh, so because I believe religion is a threat to human development and that it should never come anywhere near politics, I'm bashing religion? Please shut up.

Im with Stillwell

Keep religion away from politics.

In fact keep it away education and schools!

If you want to practice following/worshiping a belief system like that do it your own time and let others find it if they want to don't force it into schools.

The abortion topic is a good one. I completely agree with abortion, it is the the woman right to have one. The people who petition the government against it are often churches.

It is not in the schools.  No one is forcing religion on you or is even talking about putting it in schools.  This is the brian dead idea that is running rampet in theworld.  Stop feeling so attacked no one is attacking you.

Actally at my primary school we were pretty much forced to be christian (even then I didn't believe in christianity as it made no sense to me) but we had to sing hyms, prey and listen to readings from the bible. There were two muslim kids at my school, one was in my class and they were not allowed to attend assembley. This was a non religious school BTW.

For the sake of the arguement I will use the word faith.

Answer me this.  Is it ok to elect a man of faith?  Is it ok to make a law with faith as the reason for the law? for example abortion.

Its ok to elect a man who has faith, but only if he doesn't let his faith dictate his politics, faith should not influence law, Abortion should reamin legal it is constitutional and should not be dictated by religion
