With products like this with these features and functionality coming out at this pricepoint, it makes me wonder what market Windows RT and Chrome OS low end laptops are made for and frankly why they need to exist.

Thats a great price. how would it do playing games? I am hoping to get a tablet for gaming at the end of this year or begining of next. when ever i can find one thats affordable and worth it.

Windows RT should have stopped existing with 8.1. There is just no market for it anymore. It was used to run on ARM chips that have superior battery life but with haswell and atom this isn't true anymore. Full legacy windows tablets are the way to go.

I liked what they were offering with the first Asus Transformer but this one is even better value. People will still keep buying ipad mini's though.

50$ less and i could see meself buy this, matter of time so :)

I actually love it ...
10inch display ?
way faster than the old atom ? < hope this is true
$349€ wtf thats a steal ...

gonna get one if its way faster than the old atom ... hell the atom one is 2-4 times slower than the cpu (core2duo e6600 1gen c2d bought 1st day) I bought 7+ years ago which I giftet to my mother.
the i5 surface ones are like 10-20times faster than those slowpoke things :(
and by slow i mean p2-p3 slow

wished they used the new gen i3, but than it would be more than $349, but 8x faster or so maybe ...

That is actually quite impressive for the price. Conflicted being getting a cheap one like this or something more powerful like a Surface Pro 2.

according to anandtech's other test with the faster atom than its build in the asus:

minecraft: ~13fps
borderlands:  ~8fps

so for gaming a nogo, since this one is slower ...

I find ASUS to be a good brand. I bought two and loved them, even more than the Vaio which I stuck with for years. I'm definitely going to upgrade later when the time arises.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

It doesn't do so well with gaming. Atom CPU is actually decent, but the GPU is not sufficient for latest games. It should be able to play indie games, emulators up to N64 and 99% of the games found in the Windows 8 store, including the new Halo game.

Here are some CPU/GPU benchmarks.
