Online gaming has been a big thing for years but it exploded during the 7th gen.  As a result, many gamers have lamented being able to just play with their buddies on the couch.  Some have even said that's why they only play Nintendo--because the want to play with their friends on the same couch.  I'm calling bullshit!  http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=5648086  I've owned every console this gen and I've had a ton of experiences online and via local co-op!  A few that come to mind are

• Kameo: ELements of Power
• Gears of War 1-3
• Halo 3-4 (plus spin-offs)
• Hunted: The Demon's Forge
• New Super Mario Bros. Wii
• Resident Evil 5-6
• Little Big Planet 1 &2
• Kingdom of Keflings and World of Keflings
• Fable II-III
• Splosion Man and Mrs. Splosin Man
• Castle Crashers

So, before complaining about the lack of local co-op and split screen (Versus mode is still also available in many racing games and FPS titles) let's make sure there IS a lack of split screen and local co-op titles.  Game on, gamers!!

I know I am. Awesome since 2007 and here every day (despite ioi).

just went through the PS3 list and realized why I rarely play co-op unless its on Nintendo consoles.

Nearly all games listed that I enjoy my friends wouldnt, the games my friends do play i just play because I enjoy the co-op and not really the game itself.

Guess I need more friends who will play games outside the mainstream... yeah that will never happen

I know where you're coming from.  I had to train my child to like the kinds of games I like because all of my friends either don't play games at all or only play Madden.
