So One might overtake PS4 for a week

It would be a sad day in gaming if it didn't...

Joke post? Not only is it not going to happen, but he was being sarcastic.

It could happen especially if Sony announces TGS date for Japan @ 11/22/13.

So COD ghost selling better on ps4 confirmed? I think so.

Where is the implied danger? Sony announcing a release some time in October?

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

When both launch, it may be closer, or even an X1 lead. BF4, Assassin's Creed IV, and WATCH_DOGS, however, will be lead by PS4.

but do you think the Xbox one version selling better worldwide?, IMO  the possible lead gained in NA will not be enough to overtake it world wide, but do you believe it will be even in Europe too?

Pretty interesting. The console released 1 week before the PS4 in Europe and 1 week after it in the US. Retail must be happy with this ''arrangement''

It's funny now that i think about it. People where saying Sony had lost their console war with the PS4 as well, when the PS3 released so late and it was so expensive at the time. Most were expecting the next xbox(Xboxe One) to release in 2011 and Sony would have to wait till 2013 at the earliest to release the PS4.

Sony is a hardware company essentialy and they know very well how to launch a product and have enough volumes of it available. While Microsoft is still better in software, but are profiling themselves more and more as hardware makers too as of late.

Interesting times ahead. Happy gaming to everyone i say and let's welcome the start of the new generation in gaming ;)

Good that it is out at the same time in all 13 countries. But part of me wanted it to come out on the same day as the PS4, just to see what happened :)

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Where can I pre-order one?

So no Japan launch, and only a select few European countries? Something tells me the system will do well in the US and Canada, but it's going to bomb pretty much elsewhere. The mere fact that PS4 is still launching before this, and in more countries to boot, is going to severely hurt the sales.

I will give them for launching in all their announced regions on the same day, which might help to an extent, but they missed some crucial markets, and that's still going to hurt them this holiday.

What crucial markets? All the markets they missed combined would still only be around 15% (max) of total Xbone sales.

Japan, South Korea, Sweden, Holland, Portugal, Russia and Poland, they're all very small markets for Xbox compared to USA, Canada, Australia, UK, Germany, France and Italy.

You forgot Brasil.

From the 21 list the Xbone was delayed in:

Belgium
Denmark
Finland
Netherlands
Norway
Russia
Sweden
Switzerland

In 2010 360 have ~15% of the market share in Nordic countries... so I don't think that is insignificant.

Yes, and Brazil. Last time it took ages before X360 (and PS3) was officially released in Brazil, didn't it? I didn't mention Brazil though because I thought the taxes there pretty much is killing sales of modern consoles.

About the 15%, I don't mean it that way. I mean that out of X360's total sales, ~80 million, no more than 15% comes from the regions that aren't supported at Xbone launch (Scandinavia, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Poland, Hungary, Czech Rep, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Greece, Portugal, Chile, Colombia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, South Africa, India, Philippens and a bunch of smaller nations).

Even though it's a huge number of countries, they're all relatively small markets and even if you combine them all, they still don't make up more than ~12 million lifetime sales of X360. So it's safe to assume that leaving them out wouldn't mean much for just one Holiday for the Xbone, only a couple of hundred thousand units.
