Hi mates, 

As you all know, the vita struggle in the charts. I have a vita, I love it, really, but I have to admit this is hard for me to recommand it anyone.

Do not get me wrong, the vita is a fantastic device. There's no doubt about that. By the end of the year it will have a very strong catalogue. But let's face it, actually it's hard to believe Sony will continue to support it forever if the vita isn't selling way more than now. 

To save it, some talk about games, other about price. I don't know. 

I realised something about the vita : This console is perfect for playing independant productions and colorful "small" games. Games like Hotline miami, Jet Set Radio, rayman origins, Guacamelee or Dragon crown. I have no doubt that Dustforce, Fez, Flower or even Proteus will play/look perfect on it too.

Since i played some of those games on vita, it's impossible for me to play them on my ps360/computer. Vita is clearly design for those games.

So I thought about a cheaper vita who could only play those kind of games.  No skype, no youtube, no AAA type titles, no wifi, no online, no browser. A vita sold at 55/70$. Would you be intersted in it ?

Nope.. Unless humble bundle or steam sales are coming to that indie only Vita.. Indies are like McDonalds.. It looks like food, you eat it but an hour later you're still hungry..

Ah, a Vita thread. Like a beacon for trolls.

Anyway, all the things you mentioned add little extra cost. You'd have to reduce the hardware down and then it wouldn't be a Vita, it would just be a PSP--or a smart phone.

The beauty of the Vita is that it offers a good experience with any kind of game. It will grow eventually.

I would buy if it keeps the ability to stream ps4 games (ie wifi).

I would buy it in a bundle with PS4, other than that, why would I buy Vita if I have a solid smartphone that I can play some games on when in a bus or something ( bathroom XD), or use for facebook, youtube etc. Honestly, in today's market Vita seems like a big flop because of all the smartphones and tablets that as the years go by become more and more powerful than Vita. 3ds on the other hand isn't aiming on graphical capabilities but rather on their well established exclusives like Mario and Pokemon.

I would buy one if it was $99 with a memory card. Otherwise NO.

Don't assume that indie games don't use the system's full power. We are sloppy optimizers ;)

Every indie game on Vita would have to be reported for it to work on your proposed device.

Because you can't play games as fez, Jet Set Radio or Flower on your smartphone. I mean you can, but the experience is way better if you have a pad or a stick. Your smartphone don't have these things.

It's the same for those who say that they don't need a vita because they can already play the game on their ps3, on a big screen. It's true, BUT indie games look way much better on the vita. For those kind of game, the experience is better on the vita.

I am not sure, but I assume that you need a strong OS to make those kind of application run on your device. A strong OS may be pricier. Plus the wifi and the online require probably some pricey cheaps/pieces. I know little about that, I'm just assuming.
