It would be nice if we all followed these rules. Also, see the second link in my sig before you debate anyone. :)

ideally i suppose the mod team could be bigger so they are everywhere and can mod before stuff gets out of hand instead of afterwards

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

. ever since the "no sexy avatar" rule the site has going downhill.. all these hormones are building up and released into the threads instead of fapping to a small avatar picture.. its like in real life.. if we are surrounded by beautifull women we try to act cool and when we are not.. we are animals ripping each others head off..

I've seen entire threads become near useless from people complaining about other people instead of posting about the topic on hand. If they would have ignored and reported the people they are complaining about, said thread would have been much better. Really though, even if you debate the person respectfully (without showing yourself getting flustered) that annoys them if all they are trying to do is get a rise out of you. But the two worst things you can do in a forum atmosphere is to complain about them or go off on them all angry like. That's what people like that strive for. |
Yes, but the moderation here won't ever do anything about that person trolling.
Great example, person trolls a thread, they're confronted, they openly admit to trolling the thread. It gets reported. Nothing happens.
Although i understand your concerns, I was reading through your positive Xbox thread and while within the first forty or so comments there was exactly 1 person acting up on behalf of Sony, it seemed like at least ten people responded with: sony fanboys (plural!) are always ruining positive MS threads... Now I was actually going to join the party with a positive comment but the whining kept me out.
I'd like to see a change in that behaviour, the overabundant: they are always out to get me... i'm being harassed as an .... fanboy and it is not fair...
(either ignore the user or enter a discussion but do not complain like a child)
And that goes both ways! but i just happen to notice this petty behaviour more on the MS side lately.
Other than that, im all for good behaviour.

The negative comments from the usual suspects are bad enough but now we've got preemptive comments like "This is good news for [company], I'm sure [user or opposing fanbase] will come over here and bash it".
These comments do nothing but feed the fire. Don't anticipate negative comments, let them come (they always do) and if they're unreasonable report them.
Signature goes here!
I have to admit sometimes I am a total ass... However, I try to be respectful but it doesn't always come out that way. Main problem is bitching about a topic so much or so intensely that it seems like I'm bitching at the person rather than the topic that is upsetting me.

or better yet, promote everyone with over 2 years to mod! it will be like conceled carry gun laws,. everyone will be soo scared of everyone else no one would dare post anything trollish. if everyone has a gun then we're all safe!!

honest to god,. i'd rather read straight up troll posts than these self-martyred cry sessions about how everyone else is the bigger troll..
..so annoying.
