''Oh shit, my favorite company is about to get wrecked in marketshare & sales, has no 3rd party support and has by far the weakest hardware on the market. I better find something positive to grasp on ! ''

This post not moderated and classified as whining/trolling/flamebait surprises me, considering similar past posts in other threads quickly get in care.

OT, looks like this generation isn't doing well. Wii u was already losing money, and now with the price cut. On the other hand, sw sales of 3ds is still in the low numbers.

Hmm, maybe because i wasnt trolling or flaming???

Then what was the purpose of your post? It didn't add anything to the thread.

Microsoft will profit massively as always.

Nintendo will do well and survive even with some dark 5 years.

Sony and their super amazing console? Good luck with the financials.

Edit: Also, GC was very profitable despite its low sales.

No it wasn't. The GC lost a ton of money but due to the great success of the GBA, Nintendo overall still made A LOT of money.

Yes it was. the Gamecube hardware had some mad attach rates (among the highest of all time, I think, every system had like 18 games attached with it), so Nintendo was pulling incredible numbers even back then.  With the exception of the small period of time when Nintendo cut the price to $99, Nintendo sold the Gamecube with profit on every unit.

Here.. looks like nintendo was more profitable in the 6th gen than sony or microsoft in the seventh gen.

Yes, the GBA made them lots of money. I said that.

They did not profit off the gamecube though. It's attach ratio was 9.6. Worse than PS2, xbox, and xbox 360.

I guess asking you to prove that theory is out of the question because if you could you would.  But claiming the GameCube wasn't profitable requires proof.  We all know it was profitable.

Soo you point is?? Wii U is weak "by far".. really?? Compare bayonetta 2 to second son.. and get back to me on that with recorded distance okay? Oh you think nintendo has no 3rd party support?? Take a look at 3rd party support on Wii U and compare it to that on PS4 & XBOX ONE, I don't see Batman or Splintercell on ps40ne, do you?? I think you're real point is that you underestimate NINTENDO! Then this thread is for you. Ppl have always doubted the big N and just look at those stats and tell me, who was proven right time and time again??

It's just a very common myth that gamecube was profitable but this is simply not true. I'm on mobile right now but later I can get you your proof.

Also since you're being kinda pissy about this: I guess asking you to prove

the gamecube itself was profitable, not Nintendo as a whole, is out of the question because if you could you would.

Nintendo Gamecube hardware was sold at a loss throughout. Nonetheless, as you mentioned, the Gamecube segment did post profits due to the incredible attach rach of software sales. Overall it was profitable, but the hardware loses limited their profit margins greatly.
