Forums - Gaming - How can Sony (home) consoles sell more on average than Nintendo (home) consoles if Sony steals Nintendo's ideas?

If they didn't only Sony would have disks instead of cartridges (I assume they were 1st),

Technically, Sony was 9th.  Several consoles before the PS used optical media such as the Sega Genesis/Megadrive CD add on, Sega Saturn, 3DO, Neo Geo CD, Amiga CD, CD-i, TurboGrafix/PC Engine CD, etc...

Oh dang. I was way off... I didn't get started with gaming until after the ps2 came out and I got a ps1. That's my excuse for my ignorance.

First off, the N64 launched an entire YEAR after the PS1 in the US and two, the number one selling game on PS2 was GTA SA. You want to know what the number one selling game on Wii was? Wii Sports.

So  you're saying WiiSports was a game for people under 13?

I'm saying that it sure as hell wasn't for the same gamers that played GTA SA.

Alot of which are young teenage boys. They love that shit.

Nearly every boy in my year played Vice city and San Andreas when I was 13.

I don't remember any sony rip-off selling more than the original Nintendo idea.

About the question, because the Nintendo consoles you mention doesn't have the same third party support than the sony ones.

And finally, the Wii was a beast. It shows how Nintendo with the right output and few but key third party support can still output the sony consoles.

PS1 ;o

I'm really talking about all Nintendo consoles, though. Just on average Sony sees much higher sales.

Wii did well, but not nearly as well as PS2 did in terms of units sold.

PS1 controller do you mean? Because the rip-off is a tad to late considering the original was more similar to the Snes one than to the N64 controller.
