Can you give me a source for this claim they made more of the GBA + GC, because it doesn't seem likely. While the PS2 did have an initial hardware loss, it did sell (by VGC numbers, which won't be 100% accurate but I'm sure some quick googling will come up with similar numbers) 1.6 billion pieces of software, vs the 590 million of the GBA and CC combined. Seeing at the console maker gets 20% of each sale, that's an awful lot of game profits.

You also can't claim this is voided by the sales of Nintendo published games (publishers get 30%, so that would be a 50% total for Nintendo published games) as the total sales of Nintendo published games across both the GBA and GC was 195 million, vs 185 million from games published by SCE. 10 million at 50% is still a tiny dent compared to the extra 1 billion at 20%.

The fact we even have to add both the GBA and GC number together to compare it to the PS2, shows just how much of a flop the Gamecube was for Nintendo.

Sony can do nothing, only Nintendo can kill Nintendo. If Nintendo releases real games (not SMBU), they sell well. Best thing Sony can do is not try to rip off what makes Nintendo unique, because the end up looking foolish. Anybody remember Playstation Allstars? How about the upcomming Knack? Mod Nation Racers?
Playstation Allstars = Crappy version of Smash Brothers
Knack = looks like a rejected Nintendo concept
Mod National Racers = A boring Mario Kart

I don't see why they'd care. Nintendo largely appeals to a different audience than PS4 is shooting for.

But Nintendo is publicly traded now, so the easiest way would be to buy them out or... convince Tencent or some other gargantuan Chinese mobile company to take them over to put all their games on Android. Done.

Sony needs first to stop copying Nintendo and come up with original ideas. Also need to do a better job to focus on software with their handheld then power. Hell, Sony needs to run Sony better.

Microsoft needs software and a lot of it. Also need to expand their ideas with kinnect some type of way that everyone even the most dedicated gamer will embrace. Stop acting like they have a pole up their @$$&$ and engage the consumer like their money is the answer to everything.



If Nintendo make no more consoles they will make games for their handheld. The consoles will die off and it will be another videogame crash. It was Nintendo that brought life in the last crash. It won't be the same as if Microsoft or Sony stop making consoles.

This is such a terrible argument. Sony yes everything sony does is copying nintendo...It makes zero sense and is hogwash. Nintendo is not doing so well right now. Sony is not even consider nintendo neither does MS. Different markets and goals. Everyone even nintendo takes a look around and gets ideas, that happens in every industry, If you think it doesn't you are woefully out of touch.

If nintendo goes way there will be a  video game crash????? WTF? No there won't, Sony and nintendo will keep humming along as normal.......The industry does not rely on nintendo at all, in fact most of the industry has passed nintendo by.
