Forums - Gaming - What does Sony/soft need to do to finally take Nintendo out this Gen?

Dont think they need to do much Nintendo is doing it themselves. Wii U will not rebound and Nintendo will need to wait until say say 2017 before releasing another console. While at the same time the PS4 and the X1 will be in their prime. Yes Nintendo has cash to survive, but that isnt what investors will be looking for.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Nintendo's demise is not of Microsoft interest but Sony. And everybody(even Xboxers) want to play a Karting game well done, a console all star rumble well done and also a well done pet game. So for me Nintendo is a complement to MS.

PS4 and Vita will not sell and Sony will go bankrupt.

see? i can play that game as well. you're not psychic, so don't act like you know for a fact that the WiiU will not sell.

Nintendo's model is such hard to see them go under. I do not see any company pushing them out, I can only see a complete market shift cause them to adjust. The question is if such market shifts occurred would it be Nintendo that is most vulnerable? Given their reserves and valuable IPs I do not think so.

Why does everybody think PS4/Xbone are gonna be a mega success? im not saying they wont be, but its not a given they will succeed either. There is also the possibility that Nintendo might turn around the Wii U fortunes like they did with the "doomed" 3DS.

kill their handheld dominance

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I think you need to read my comment again as you didn't seem to understand it.

On the off chance that you did understand it and made quite an obsolete response, I will clarify. Motorcycle companies and car companies compete for the same market - people who want powered vehicles to transport them from point A to point B. They appeal to different crowds - same as Nintendo.

Nintendo, sony and microsoft are direct competitors in the gaming department. this is absolute.

Toyota, Honda, Harley, Ducati are direct competitors in the automobile department. This is absolute.

They'll need to develop software faster and better, while delivering unique experiences, like during the Wii era. I don't think they are capable of doing this, at least not on Wii U. And unlike 3DS, they won't enjoy of less-than-decent third party support.
