Yeah but the dedicated audio processor is part of that... CPU audio compression/desconpression at lest give you less quality results than dedicated audio units... and this units needs to works with all games audio, voice recognition, audio chat, etc.
If I'm not wrong MS choose to use a powerful audio chip to not need to use CPU or GPU to processo some audio tasks.
