Forums - Microsoft - Only 5 out of 13 Xboned launch countries will support voice commands

But surely teh cloud could figure out accents?

Hahaha. If the cloud was as good as MS says they could have just kept selling 360 and ran games through the cloud on it, instead of making new hardware :).

I'd be surprised if they got the Scottish accent down by launch.

Albert just looks kinda silly now.

"We can't launch in these countries because of voice commands not working"

Then

"We can't launch in these countries because of voice commands not working but in places like Switzerland with voices we do support, the problem is filling the paperwork on time for localization"

I wonder what the story will be now...

Not Spanish? .... I've no idea what they thinking (thought process) but not Spanish?

why would spanish be more important than the languages chosen? I dont think latin america or mexico or spain are massive early adopters of expensive technology. That being said, they should have more language support. they have had kinect out for several years now so they should have been able to support the languages it supports, and I think spanish is one of them.

I can guarantee you spanish are massive early adopters as any country not named UK. Spain consume even more than Italy in videogames, a country with almost 15 million more population. And then, there is Mexico, a very very populated country. Only with these 2 countries, i think Spanish should be supported too....

Because DE's language is spoken more than ESP's language?!

lol I was wondering same thing. Maybe DE just buys more and therefore was higher on their priority list? Or maybe they dont' have any Spanish speaking employees?

Perhaps, but...it's weird.

I mean, even in America itself, Spanish is pretty much a huge language.
