Forums - Nintendo - Now that the 2DS is launching this year, do you finally believe in the 3DS hitting 20 million this year?

3DS currently stands at about 5.5m.

If it sells on par with last two years, it should be around 14m to 15m by end of this year.

However, last two years did NOT have Pokemon or a 3DS with a base price of $130 where it'll likely be on sale or bundled with free games as well, especially Pokemon come black friday.

However, is that enough to make up an additional 5m?

I don't think so. I'd bet closer to 17m for 2013 when its all said and done.

MH should give it a boost too. At least that is what it looks like from a thread I read earlier.

You think so? I can see the old DSXL being 79.99 - 89.99 and the Wii at that price as well, but not this brand new device. Mabye the 3DS will be at 149.99 already....

Maybe ur right, keeping it at $129 but with a game is likely tho. And I think the 3DS was $139 w 3D Land at Target last holiday.

If we see more deals like that, plus this 2DS thing then sales will be high indeed. The only problem I see is American's and their/our love affair with the DS. If it is super cheap this holiday it could hurt 3DS sales.

Ya last black friday the DS was like $70, that plus 3DS not having many big holiday titles really hurt 3DS sales in the west last year.

This year with Pokemon, Zelda, Mario Party coming in the next few months and Luigis Mansion and Animal Crossing having there first holiday plus 2DS closing price gap between DS and 3DS, there is no way 3DS sales wont be thru the roof.
