Forums - Sony - PS4 Remote Play Confusion

With Remote Play on the PS4, the whole point of it is to be able to play almost every PS4 game anywhere with the Vita via wifi right? So I would assume since you can turn your PS4 on with your Vita, you can pick what games you want to play. But wouldn't that mean you would have to purchase every game digitally in order to play the games anywhere? Is Gaikai even involved in Remote Play to stream the games?

Can somebody explain this to me who actually knows how this works? Because I'm all the way confused.

I'm sure you can turn on the PS4 with the Vita because you can already turn on the PS3 with the PSP and Vita. That's all I know.

Lol, you can only play the games within range of your PS4. It doesn't turn it into a portable game. It just streams it wirelessly. Only like 50 ft away.

Like Spemanig said, I'm pretty sure it has a limited range so you can't really take it with you on the bus to play Killzone Shadow Fall. I think the feature will be more used for things like if you're family wants to watch TV you can continue to play your PS4 games on the vita while sitting on the couch. Or for instance if you want a bathroom break, you can continue playing a PS4 game on your Vita and then you'll never have to leave your bathroom again,

Yeah. If that internet is 50 feet strong.

If your PS3 is wired you can start remote play on Vita while at a wifi spot and use the option connect using the internet.  Your Vita will remote start your PS3 from wherever you're at.  So certain PS3 games can be played anywhere.  God of War 1/2, Ico/SotC, Lair, BlazBlue Calamity Trigger, all minis, all PSX games, and some PSN games.  You can also listen to any music or watch any video that's on your PS3 as well.

You can only do this though if you link your PS3 to your Vita and turn on the remote start option on your PS3, this way while off, your PS3 will be able to accept the signal to turn on only through the Vita you designated it to turn on with.

The problem is, if your internet provider caps your internet usage, you'll be using your internet usage just to play PS3 or PS4 games from anywhere.
