Forums - General - How many languages do you speak? And why?...

French: I'm from Québec, a canadian province of almost 8 millions of population out of 33 millions in Canada. 80% of people here have French as their mothertongue.

Otherwise, I can read, write and talk in English, even if I don't consider myself bilingual. What can you do without english in this world anyway....And since I'm a graduate student in Physics, I have to read a lot of scientific stuff which is most of the time only available in english.

I can understand a bit of Spanish too, studied it one year in high school, but I'm not really using it, so I lost it sincre that time: Holà, me llamo Guillermo y yo soy Canadiense, lol ^^

English: from US
Serbian: can understand it and speak a little, can't read or write it though
Spanish: took 2 years of Spanish, still not good

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

Just english, because I'm not in high school, yet.

Portuguese: my native language.
English: started learning it when I was 8, I'm good enough at it for my purposes.
French: learned at school, forgot most of it (but can still read it, along with some Spanish and Italian since they're close to Portuguese)
Danish: lived for 1.5 years in Denmark, so I can read some Danish, but I can't speak much.
Swedish: living in Sweden now, and will continue to live here in mid/long-term, so I'll try to become fluent at it. I can read it since it's similar to Danish, but speaking it is still a few months or even a year or two away.
Chinese: don't speak it or read it, although my girlfriend is Chinese so I might learn it later. Swedish will keep me busy enough for now, though...

I wish the U.S. would place more emphasis on foreign languages at an early age. I'd love to speak multiple languages. Unfortunately I only speak English and a little Japanese right now.

Now the world is weird  and people take Prozac  to make it normal.
