Forums - Microsoft - Capcom working with Microsoft to improve Dead Rising 3 performance in time for launch

VideoGamer

Capcom Vancouver is working with Microsoft to try and improve Dead Rising 3's performance in time for launch, senior producer Jason Leigh has assured VideoGamer.com.

Discussing the game's frame rate and performance with us earlier today, Leigh admitted that the team had "had many questions over the [game's] performance, which is understandable.

"This demo is actually several weeks old and we've made a lot of ground. We've got a little bit more ways to go before we release the game."

The demos of the game on display at both E3 and GamesCom have struggled to maintain a solid frame rate throughout their playthrough, appearing to slip well below 30FPS when high amounts of zombies appear on screen.

"We're targeting 30 frames a second," Leigh added, "and because we're based in Vancouver, and Seattle is where Microsoft is based, we're only three hours up the road so we constantly have tech people driving back and forth and they're helping us to make this a very smooth running game at launch."

Dead Rising 3 goes on sale alongside Xbox One this November.

Good news work relentlessly and hopefully that pays off

Damn, I was hoping for 60FPS.

That's the biggest disappointment for me with these new consoles. I was hoping we'd see more games running 60FPS with 1080p.

Most launch titles for both consoles are rushed in a way. Let's hope for no performance issues.

Improve performance? That means games have a chance to lag/slowdown and run below 60 fps be even with the next gen? Just like how the ports were on the wiiU at launch?

Well shit

I agree, telling us that you "Hope" to get to 30fps isn't selling me on the games performance. I guess that guy should have followed the better to not talk about it approach if he doesn't want to scare a lot of people off.

Seems like the developers are going Hollywood on us.  They just want more zombies/bigger explosions instead of better/smoother gameplay.

Not 60 fps?.. well why is it considered nextgen when it cant do 60 fps.. according to 'hardcores' standards.. lol

real hardcore don't care about 1080p 60fps.... they actually lower everything to get the highest fps and have the edge in MP.... they care about kill ratio and high score not looks.... it always make me laugh when people think they are hardcore.... they have no idea what a true hardcore competitive player is most of the time...

not saying you don't.... but I can tell you one thing there isn't many true hardcore around here that's for sure.....
