No chance in hell. To be fair, it can very well pass Nintendo sometime in 2014. If I put any thought into it, I'll say no to 2014 too. Playstation 4 has a million preorders, I'll say sales will drop after release.

With this release date, no it won't. Nintendo has Sonic, Zelda and Mario this year, They will boost Wii U sales a lot, I think.

Even if Sony could sell 3-4 million units by the year's end, that wouldn't be enough unless the Wii sells <700 K for the yest of the year.

Even if the Wii U sells at its current rate with no boost at all from Wii Fit U, Wii Party, Mario 3D, DK, Sonic, or Wind Waker, or the holiday season in general, it would be 30K times about 20 weeks. So, that's about 600K which would put the Wii U at a disastrous 3.9 million at the end of the year. Even so, the PS4 would have to sell 4 million units in 6 US weeks, 4 European weeks, and presumably less time in Japan.

Lets be pessimistic and assume the Wii U sells 2.7 million units the rest of the year. They have a very strong lineup, and Nintendo typically gets a bigger holiday boost than the other companies. Also, this is a nice round number to work with. If this happens, than Sony needs to sell about a million units per week to beat out the Wii U by the end of 2013. Basically the PS4's demand would have to be near that of the Wii at its peak, and Sony's logistics would have to be freaking amazing.

Let's be optimistic, and say the Wii U sells 5 million units by the end of the year. I don't think this is completely unreasonable. While I don't see a price cut happening, I see Nintendo doing some nice bundles with games like Wii Fit and Mario 3D Land. They already have a Zelda bundle in the works according to rumors. They also have a pretty nice lineup from September on. Wii Fit U, Wii Party U (seriously, people are sleeping on this one and with the right marketing it could be a huge hit.), Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Sonic, Legend of Zelda, Pikmin 3 already off to a nice start, and a surprisingly decent third party lineup (much better than what people would have you believe), I hardly think 5 million all that unreasonable. At any rate, if the Wii U could push 5 million, than PS4 would need 8 million.

This is all also ignoring the XBox One which has a similar market to the PS4.

You're acting like Nintendo is just going to stay at 3.5 million until the end of the year. Even if it DOES, the PS4 still has no chance in hell. The Wii U will have a Wind Waker deluxe bundle. It'll probably have a Super Mario 3D World and Wii Fit U bundle too. Those two sell MASSIVE numbers. There will probably be a Mario Kart 8 bundle [EDIT: next year.] That sells MASSIVE numbers. Those games sell faster and better than any game that has ever hit a Sony console, period.
