Forums - Gaming - Cool but disappointed in both Gamescon presentations

Some interesting titles but nothing that impressive. Very boring.

As for Gamescom, what was really to be expected? It's never been comparable to E3 in terms of content. The indie titles on PS4 alone make it better than a lot of previous Gamescom's...

Both hyped it up as having big announcements for next gen so im sure people were expecting some new AAA announcements from first parties.  The only new AAA game we saw was Fable Legends.  As I said, neither was bad. They both had some cool announcements and I thought Rime looked really good. They just didnt blow me away is all.

On the positive side, we still have TGS for some more announcements.  Hoping for a Persona 5 and a Lost Odyssey 2 announcement.

Gamescom is a very young convention compared to E³ and TGS.

More to come on TGS, I think.

What did you think of Shadow of the Beast, Looks like it could end up being AAA quality.

Microsoft didn't have one so yeah. But Sony man, what are they doing, a whole conference of indie games? Isn't Sony the company with those great AAA studios? Playstation 4 has no gamez

So indie games aren't games?

Okay then.

AAA, retail, exclusive, gamepad based games. Thats what defines you and thats what people expected.

Its cool that you are embracing the indie scene, but it is not part of your peoples rich history.

Xbox has always had a sheer amount of indie games every year, and just ebcause they weren't shown, doesn;t mean they aren't coming. It seemed like padding, until such a time when Sony can show their megatons.

Ummm what?

Seemed pretty clear what I said.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Reminded me of God of War from the trailer.  Im not really sure what it is but I assume a hack n slash which is a genre that i dont care much for.  The only hack n slash games that i have bought this gen is Castle Crashers and the God of War Trilogy.

But it does show potential.

The biggest news was the $50 Vita cut.

Now I must debate between a PS3 or a Vita this black Friday. Valk Chronicles and the like is really cheap right now.

Dude PS Vita no question that is if you plan on buying next gen. The ps3's aren't going anywhere and only getting cheaper.

Both you mean Sony and EA?

Not you per se. Your people as a whole. PS was built on retail, AAA, gamepad exclusives. Many 3rd party and PS3 went heavy with the 1st party ones. PSN never held a candle to XBLA in terms of heavy sellers.

So it isn't part of your history. Your people are adapting to what is given to you and thats fine, but don't act like it was what you were expecting
