Forums - Nintendo - 60 fps is the real problem, not the gamepad controls!

is 60 fps the real problem ?

of course it is 4 8.70%

reviewers are not skillful enough 17 36.96%

nope 25 54.35%

Total:46

So, based on the reviews about The Wonderful 101 so far, there is a lot going on the screen making it dificult to play at some points. I think that is the problem the reviewers have when using the touch screen controls. They feel the pressure of drawing fast because the game demand it, then most of the time you won't do it right if you are not confident in yourself.

My point is, when Kamiya and other developers take a look at these reviews, it can be possible they will think 60 fps for all games is not worth. I can imagine now, that Bayonetta 2 will have the same problem with the reviewers.

do you agree or not?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the touch screen controls optional?  I never used them when I played the demo.

so 60FPS is a bad thing now?

Huh? What does 60fps have to do with anything?

not for me, but developers can suggest that. Just some thoughs, like they say japanese games are too hard for the americans. Reason why they don't bring some of them fo the west. Something like that.

The game is chaotic as fuck, and it would be at 30FPS or 60FPS. There is a lot going on and its hard to follow. That's the way Kamiya makes his games, and some people will like it and some won't.

it is too fast for gamers to think and act quick enough as to enjoy the game. at least that is what i think the reviewers are experiencing, not the gamers in general.

That has nothing to do with the FPS, if it was 30 FPS everything would be just as chaotic, but the game would not be as smooth.

But how does 60fps affect how much stuff is on screen or make the game harder? It should have no affect on gameplay, only make it look smoother visually.

That has to do with the way the game is made, you can easily make slow paced games running at 60.  Or fast paced games running at 30, it just doesn't work as well in this case as it would at 60.

i know i agree with you, but i think these reviewrs real complain is because the game is fast paced. So fast that they can't draw a simple shape correctly on the touch screen.
