Which do you prefer?

First Person Shooters (FPS) 17 15.89%

3rd Person Shooters (TPS) 78 72.90%

Can't choose really. I j... 10 9.35%

Neither 2 1.87%

Total:107

TPS; I always feels those are the more realistic shooters in terms of combat; warfare is more than just sprinting/crouching/prone/peeking out of over to shoot like the usual FPS's; your should be able to vault over obstacles/dodge-roll/shoot/throw grenades under cover/ better stealth, and I feel TPS give you a better sense of your surroundings

TPS

Example: Max Payne series.

Man that's one of my faves. MP3 was one of the finer games for me last year. Too bad its sales were not encouraging. :/ I do hope for a fourth game.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

That's how I feel in part, and a major reason why I get bored of FPS fairly quickly. For me, it's like I'm playing the same game in a different setting.

TPS. FPS makes me lose connection to the main character.

Me Too. Lol

Tps.

To put it mildly, I do not enjoy Fps. It's just, akward. Like... I'm inside of the tele but i never have the view i would have.

This is a tough one. I love third person shooters, especially Jet Force Gemini and Gears of War, but the problem is that few developers put enough time and energy into those projects. First-person shooters get more attention and thus produce better games. My top 25 has something like five FPS and zero TPS. I don't think that has anything to do with the sub-genre per se; I think it has more to do with the priorities of developers.

So, in other words, I think FPS is the more successful sub-genre, but I don't think it's intrinsically better than its third-person cousin.

100% 3rd. I like to see my geeza capping the shit out of people. pap pap pap.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

Third person. I never really saw the appeal of looking at a floating gun, with the occasional floating hand showing up to reload said floating gun.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

I really don't care, there're amazing FPS (like Bioshock) and amazing TPS (like Mass Effect).

Nintendo and PC gamer

FPS for me. I find it to be more immersive, both in terms of storytelling and in combat, and I find the aiming to be more intuitive. It gives me the sense that am entwined with that character rather than an outside observer controlling a puppet.
