Forums - Gaming - What Next Gen Games Are Not Just Current Gen Games That Look Pretty?

So what I'm basically asking is what next gen games offer new and interesting gameplay experiences that was not possible on current gen.  Honestly less than a handful of games come to my mind, those games are The Witcher 3, Final Fantasy 15, and MAYBE inFamous Second Son, gotta see more to really know.  Its kinda funny that from the 2 games I know for sure, one is a JRPG and one is a WRPG.  So what games would you guys pick?

Elder Scrolls: Online, The division, the crew.

GTA5 because that game looks so pulling off shit i just didnt think was possible on current gen games before

Infamous, the division, ryse, destiny, quantum break. All are next gen and not possible on the current gen in the same form

Without order nothing can exist - without chaos nothing can evolve.

Oh boy.

Quantum Break, killzone, Ryse: Son of Rome, Destiny, Forza, The Crew, The Division, ...........

You know what Im just going to stop there because any game that is only on next gen goes on this list. A part of next gen is that they are not capable on current gen consoles. Whether that be because physics, graphics, artificial intelligence, Kinect, Gamepad, or the online structure.

We do not judge what is and isnt. We are not developers. We are consumers.

Furthermore what makes the games you listed any more next gen than games that others are listing?

The Division, Infamous Second Son most of the other games are comming to current gen systems as well so meh

This is a tough one...but none of the upcoming "next-gen" games really standout apart from the slight visual bump. Tbh I am more excited with what's going on the indie development side than what the big developers/publishers are currently doing atm. Sure they may not match the visuals of these big time companies but the innovation is really coming from these indies; and that for me is the true meaning of next-gen. So my short answer is NONE I'm sorry!!!

The huge scale battles on FF15 are not possible on current gen, especially with you teleporting all over the place and the dynamic combat of Witcher 3.  Idk how you can include Quantum Break since we haven't even seen any gameplay for the game.

Well, with uglier graphics, they could've made it current gen.  In fact that was their original plan, it was supposed to be a PS3 title.  The teleportation stuff also, isn't really that difficult.  if event == x then vector + vectordirection = vector.  Something like that, then it redraws with the new in the same way that it would redraw if I was just walking.  It's probably a little bit slower, but nothing that couldn't happen on current gen.

We saw the footage of the PS3 gameplay and it was nowhere to scale of the PS4 footage.  The PS3 gameplay showed battles in small battle spaces, nothing to what the PS4 version is showing.  Also with being able to teleport all over the place you need a large field of view, which if it was on current gen I think there would just be fog everywhere and that would break the game.  Also the screen tearing would be a problem.  I just don't think the game we saw at e3 can run on current gen consoles.
