Its difficult to tell with the footage shown so far. In theory i would say no. I think it was a huge mistake to release multiple games on multiple systems. It diluted the audience across systems.
I'm not sure the cartoony look will be able to atract as many people as before due to the decidedly more realistic look that prevails on todays games (this is my analysis not what i wish would be the case).

With that said, if theres lack of other software nearby, maybe it will sell ok. I dont see it selling much more than one million at this point though. I also think the Xbox1 version will bomb big time. Its beyond me why they chose to go with that instead of a Wii U version.

I don't see it doing that bad, I mean even the handheld versions sold better than that.

"At this point" i mean with the info and footage shown so far.

Even with the info we have and even if the game looks like the footage we saw, which ofc it won't, I can guarantee it will sell better than that.  There's way more KH fans than that.

We'll see. The series is not very frontloaded in terms of sales. I dont see it doing much more than that without some serious advertising.

Especially in Japan i think KH3 will sell amazingly well, when i saw it was coming out I got quite excited which is rare these days for me.
The only problem with the kingdom hearts series is that with all the prequels and shifting characters the story is quite confusing for people new to it so newcomers to the series could end up having their minds screwed XD
Everybody who liked the older ones though will no doubt pick it up though so i'm sure it'll sell pretty well.

If Square Enix released it on the Wii U then I could see it getting 5 million in sales but with just the PS4 and Xbox One (A sony console hasn't had a Kingdom Heart games since PS2 and Xbox has never had a Kingdom Hearts game) I think sales will be a little limited.

I think the franchise has lost a lot of its spark, there shouldn't have been so many spinoffs. The disney, square cross over isn't really that sacred anymore.

I still think it will sell well, like 4m. But the 3rd entry could have been a mega seller like Assassins creed or something...

I dont expect the PS4 and Xbox1 to have as big installed bases as the 3DS in the same point in time. But, i guess this all depends on when the game actually comes out. My analysis is completely unrealistic if the game only comes out in 2-3 years. I was thinking 1-ish year in the analysis.

The 3DS's userbase at the time was 19m.

Seeing as the game definitely isn't coming till late 2015 at the earliest, the PS4 and X1 will quite easily match that even if they both were to sell as poorly as the Wii U. Realistically they'll probably reach 20m combined by spring 2015.

It should be noted that what they showed of KH3 was akin to a tech demo, so the game is really far off.

If you don't count Birth By Sleep, also I agree, its a huge mistake to miss out on the Wii U, even if they have to release a scaled down version.

Well it depends how next gen consoles catch on in Japan, remember they are kinda switching to handhelds.  Now I don't think its because they prefer handhelds over consoles I think its because all the JRPGs are moving to handhelds and that's obviously what they want to play.  Depending on how the PS4 sells there I think it could sell 500k-1m in Japan.

I believe it can. Maybe not as much as before, but only time will tell.
