I think maybe sony put more effort into the Vita. That back touch pad thing is cooler than 3D. Nintendo just saw the movie 3D craze and tried to cash in on it.

It is? I find that back touch-pad to be completely pointless and annoying. Every time I tried the system at a demo-stand, and that's actually way more than any other system ever, the d*mn touch-pad got in the way and I need to cringe my fingers so I don't touch it. Needless to say, that's uncomfortable. If I ever get a Vita, I'll most likely do something to cover that thing.

OT: No, I don't want Vita to do better. Not only because I'm a Nintendo-guy first, but more because it has next to no games I'm interested in. Still, the only game I actually want to have and want to play is Uncharted, while the 3DS has already beaten the original DS for me. To be fair, that one game for PSV's still one more game than the PSP had in it's entire life so ideally I'd rather have the PSV do better than the PSP at least; PSP/DS and PSV/3DS marketshares should be reversed.

Considering the graphics both of them put out is on a 2007 level SW is the only relevant topic to discuss here. In this regard:

3DS>>>>>PSVita IMO

Nope, PSVita isn't anywhere near deserving to outsell the 3DS ever.

clearly yes because the vita imo is the only mobile core gaming device out there. or at least it could be the only mobile core gaming device. 3ds and smartphones ever were and will ever be casual gaming devices mainly.

A more competitive market is a healthier market. So I'd love for the Vita to do better, which would mean that Sony did something to reward success. On the other-hand, I find that I prefer the 3DS and DS brand in general and consequently would hope for Nintendo to be the most successful in order to ascertain the continuation of this brand.

I would like the Vita to survive and I would probably buy one around the end of its life. However, I don't want it to somehow surpass the 3DS because that would just show how backwards the industry is. The current announced library of the Vita is nowhere near them 3DS library

I'd like to sell the Vita do well because while I like Nintendo portables, I don't like how they've been continuously trying to keep old technology relevant while keeping prices higher just so they can skimp out on development costs and make the absolute maximum profit.

If it wasn't for Sony developing the PSP and making it as powerful as it is, I'm sure Nintendo would have barely upgraded the 3DS' graphical capabilities. We probably wouldn't have seen the current graphics capabilitiy of the 3DS until next next gen when Nintendo releases the Super 3DS or Virtual 3DS.

The 3DS selling as well as it did at $250 with poor hardware and no worthwhile  games in comparison to the Vita sales at $250 with a lot of quality games.  That's showing how backwards the industry is.  The Vita even gets sale prices at $180 on Amazon's Black Friday, it had two games included and a PSN voucher and it was still ignored.

You are probably like me. I have never really played the Vita besides at Gamestop, and you probably have never touched a 3DS. It is alright. Neither of us know what we are missing.

nope. i have a vita (bought because of gravity rush) and had a DS too. but i have no interest in a 3DS because i really wasn't happy with the games on the DS and also see nothing of interest coming on the 3DS.

Lol, what? The 3DS was basically dead in the water at that point. The humongous price drop and wave of new quality games turned it around, but before that it was doing horrible. Sure its launch was great, but then pretty much all launches are because of fanatic early adopting fans.

Considering I am planning on getting a Vita sometime soon... I would like both to do well.

You are agreeing or not agreeing? I think you are not.

If that is the case. That is what I was saying. I do not have a vita, you do not have a 3DS. What genre did you enjoy on the DS?

If you are agreeing. Then...Yes.

I don't know what you want me to agree to. If you mean that I don't own a 3DS then yes. Like i said i just want the vita to be more succsessful than the 3DS because imo it's a better device for core gaming experiances.

I mainly bought the DS for Xenosaga DS but it never was released outside of Japan. That was the first major dissapointment with the Ds. The second dissapointment with the DS was seeing my favorite genre the JRPG (if not remade for the DS) becoming such a shallow compared to what is was during snes and ps1 aera. I dont count ps2 because that wouldn't be fair. So you pretty much can say i enjoyed nothing on the DS.
