Yes I love the Vita and find the 3ds underwhelming. I think the hardware is better, mostly because of second analog and touch screen. Non-game apps are greatly superior, currently I feel no need for a tablet. I can't do anything with the 3ds without wanting to toss it into a wall. I personally like the games more too. 3ds has been really bad for me, zero good download only games and the only retail games I liked were Shadow Wars and Mario Kart, though dream team, pokemon and smash bros (way cooler looking than wiiu) may bring me back.

I dont expect the vita to ever really pass the 3ds, but I think it should've sold more, but Sony just sucks. Zero advertising, none of its 2013 games had any advertising, and stupid propriety memory that they knew perfectly was a bad idea.

The casuals. Well, they might know what they are, but uninterested.

The casuals not knowing what those games are doesn't stop the Vita from being the perfect handheld.

They're continuing their approach of ressurrected 2D platforming, and games well balanced between accessibility and core appeal, Wii era values that have continued because they were commerciall successful in the 7th gen.

i disagree, Wii was mostly a blue ocean machine, the wii u isnt, they are trying to target both demographics, if it was really continuing what Wii was doing, why has it not had the same sucess as Wii did?

That's oversimplifying the Wii. A big part of its appeal was those two traits, that's how it attracted an audience that would buy 20 million plus copies of NSMBWii instead of just Wii Sport/Fit.

This is continuing with NSMBU, Donkey Kong County, Yoshi's Yarn, and the greater accessiblity of Wii U Nintendo games in general compared to he pre-Wii days.

I dont think Wii was anywhere near red ocean, i think it had faint traces but nothing like what they are doing with WIi U, but if what you say is true, that doesnt explain why its doing so poorly in comparison

It's not rocket science as to why it's not doing well; it's not doing well cos it had no damn games for its first 9 months.

Nintendo games aren't really red ocean on Wii U either, as they're unlike those of their competitors.

it had games not alot but it had games

Not unlike comp? red ocean? explain, what has Ninty put on Wii U so far that is unlike comp? Mario its a 2d platformer, theirs a bunch of those on other systems if thats blue ocean then so is COD. Hell i would say that game even competes with the other Mario games. Pikmin 3? Strategy and looking at sales, thats about as red ocean as you can get. Game &Wario thats kinda like blue ocean but lets be real its a mini game comp, there are a bunch of those on smartphones and other devices, hell Frobisher Says for Vita is pretty much the same game, but that was free. Ninty land is the only one that is blue ocean, but again their are alternatives, Ninty aint doing nothing now game wise that they themselves havent already done or other people have done and are doing.

Nope.

I want my thread from before Vita launched (or just after, can't remember) to come true and Vita die out, thus proving it should have just been a phone.

Now they've moved from a limited amount of content to saying its an accessory to PS4 and it's content. That will never work. No one is going to buy $150-$200 device just to have a limited capability PS4 games on go.

you mean like you being right about Wii U getting all that 3rd party support ;) im just funning, but you have been wrong more often than not, so now im convinced Vita will do alright

Again the problem with your it should have been a phone theory is that phone games are _shit_ and will never have anything close to the kinds of games found on dedicated handhelds. And if were basically just a VITA that happens to be a phone then it would be doing even _worse_. I for one would never have bought a monstrosity like that. If a phone was their only option they might as well not have done anything in the first place.

I seriously doubt I've been wrong more than right by a long shot.

Take it you didn't ready or even understand my original argument.

PSPhone wouldn't be playing the phone games you're thinking of. It would have those plus the "real" PS-style games. It would have been as powerful or more than PSV is now plus real controls.

Basically, take vita... change its shape a little bit to be a bit smaller/slider style, add phone tech, but do not remove any other feature except the back-side touch panel. $199 on contract, $499 off.

I don't want to sound like an idiotic Sony fanboy, but I do want it to do better. The reason is simple:
PSVITA is a better hardware to me.
3DS has a better game IPs (not quality-wise, I guess vita is better there too)

You're predicting that the Vita would be dropped? Woohoo, Vita saved.
