Source says GameStop printed copies of Xenoblade, labeled them as pre-owned with $90 price tag
August 12th, 2013 Posted in News, Posted by Brian, Wii
Xenoblade has become increasingly tougher to find as of late. On eBay, you’ll see prices that extend into the $100 range.

So it’s rather fishy how, after mostly being out of stock on GameStop for a few months, the game reappeared. Not only has it been available online, but stores have seemingly acquired new stock as well.

Kotaku reports, via a source, that GameStop “printed a few thousand copies of the game with no shrink wrap in order to restock their inventory, then labeled them as pre-owned.” The retailer is now pricing Xenoblade at $90 for a “pre-owned” copy.

GameStop says it’s looking into the situation. Nintendo has been asked for a comment, too.

A pretty odd situation, no doubt.

Sometimes I hate Nintendo with passion for their policies.

People been asking for this game and many others rare/out of print for a while and they never addressed the issue.

Now Gamestop is capitalizing on their product while they're sucking on their thumb.

Can anybody explain to e why they're not releasing copies of Xenoblade(physical/digital)?

NoA doesn't deserve the money for Xenoblade anyway. Not that Gamestop do. But I'm sad for Monolith.

This would be a terrible move by Gamestop if true...

I didnt even know gamespot can do that.

This is the 3rd thread about this, isn't it?

Strange, indeed.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

If Gamestop sells used copies they get 100% of the money.

Can a store print more games by themselves? Isn't that something for the publisher of the game?

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

I would think they're not supposed to be doing that, NOA will be getting no monies D:
