Forums - Gaming - How much money will Sony and Microsoft lose on each console at launch

I don't have anything to put in the OP so here a couple pics:

Personnaly I think they will both lose around 75-100$ on each console.

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I don't see Microsoft making a loss. There's no way Kinect cost £80 to make, it's only a camera sensor. And it's just so expensive.

PS4 will make a small loss of like £20 or so i think because of the processor. Something, Xbox One's higher price can cover. Just.

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Sony $75ish after all costs.
MS $75ish after all costs.

Just a rough guess. Both units break even after a yearish.

It's just that simple.

I think MS is breaking even and Sony is making a small loss.

35$ loss for Sony, Ms between -10$ and +10$

Whatever it is you are smoking, can I have some?

Probably around as much as Nintendo with the WiiU - Sell 1 piece of (1st party?) SW to break even

will be a much more significant loss for Sony, although M$ may go overboard on ads like they usually do (does seem to work most of the time though)

whoever gets the highest attach rate will probably make the most profit by the looks of it
