Megaman(Capcom), Sonic(SEGA AKA Mario Killer), and Snake(Kojima with a bigger community on Sony consoles) had a proper history with Nintendo?

The reason people want Goku is because Capcom is working on the game which has a history with one of the all time most popular characters that is Goku.  It is only natural that people want a popular character in a game they love.

Stop. Megaman began life on Nintendo consoles. Megaman 1-7, Megaman X 1-3, Megaman Battle network 1-6, Megaman Zero 1-4, Megaman ZX 1-2, Megaman legends, Megaman soccer, Megaman 1-5 GB, Megaman Command Missions... were/still Are exclusive to Nintendo consoles. Are you serious?. Sonic being Mario's ultimate rival indirectly links him to Nintendo's history. You cant talk about SNES&SEGA age with Mario and Sonic. Plus Sonic Advance 1-3, Sonic Adventure 1-2, Sonic heroes, Sonic Rush 1-2,Shadow, secret rings, black knight, unleashed, colors, upcoming Lost world. Sonic has been aligned with Nintendo consoles since being 3rd. At this point Sonic and Mario are nearly Nintendo characters. I dont want it to fully happen of course but it would not be shocking if it did.

Stop?  Did I start something?  You said a proper history right?  Smash Bros is known to have first party characters in their games which none of these characters are.  In some cases they have missed games on a nintendo console completely (Especially Sonic and Snake) and I wouldn't really call that a "Proper History."

And you can say Goku is not a video game character but then again Dragon Ball has over 80 games that has been made and 37 million copies sold.  Something that the majority of Smash Bros characters can't say.  Kind of sounds like a video game character to me.  That is like saying Batman Arkham Asylum is not a video game because batman appeared in comic books and movies as well.

Now I'm fine with you saying you don't like the idea of them being in the game or that people need to shutup about them, but to say 0% for characters without a "proper history" when Nintendo seems to be giving a few a little airtime themselves while also partnering with Capcom(EDIT: Namco Bandai) to make the new smash bros.

Don't tell me to stop either.  Just because you disagree with me does not mean that you should tell me to stop(Only made one comment).  I appreciate you using exclusive examples but my "opinion" on "proper history" has not changed.

MegaMan and Sonic are third party character's. It is only natural that they will miss release's on any console, but it all add's up to where the character/ franchise is prominently known and for both character's it's currently Nintendo consoles. Why do you think that Final Fantasy was regarded as a PlayStation franchise even though it come's from a third party developer? What about Tekken? Metal Gear? Why were these all these franchise's up to this point regarded as PlayStation franchises? because more than half their real support (there was still FF port's on GBA and tekken too) went to PlayStation. Nintendo has more waay more than half the exclusive game's from those 2 IP's. Can you say the same for AssAssincreed or Rayman? If you dont understand that then your just choosing not to. As for Goku and Batman, they are not video game character's. They were not born out of THIS industry. Do they appear in video games? yes, but are they video game characters? No. Using your knowledge your calling Micheal Jackson, Bugs Bunny,Shaq, ext video games characters. I didnt tell you to stop because I didnt your want opinion. I just dont believe you believe your own opinion.

They could just be joking, sarcasm. I'm surprise you and shokio haven't caught on to that, but you are right thought, people til this day still ask for Goku.....why !!

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Pigma looks like he'd be a neat character to add though.

I never mentioned Final Fantasy. or Tekken.  I assume those are just examples.

Assassin's Creed would be a very odd choice I would admit.  Rayman as well but his character fits in the nintendo universe so it wouldn't bother me either.

And I do believe my own opinion.  My only point was that Nintendo has characters in Smash Bros that can be considered odd moves and now that Namco Bandai is working on it as well people will be asking for Namco Bandai characters like Goku.  Will it happen?  Very doubtful but it isnt going to stop people from asking for him.

And using my knowledge Michael Jackson, Bugs Bunny, and Shaq ahave not had 80+ video games and roughly 40m games sold.

you mean like how Solid Snake had a proper history? Please.

Metal Gear (NES)

Snake's Revenge (NES)

Metal Gear Solid/Metal Gear: Ghost Babel (GBC)

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (GCN)

Snake's Revenge wasnt a Metal Gear game, thats straight from Kojima's mouth and the point is being missed. Why does he considered to have proper history and not Rayman who has had WAY more games on Ninty platforms than MG series had?

I agree, Snake doesn't have a proper history on Nintendo consoles. He was added because Kojima and Sakurai are buddies and wanted Snake in the game. End of the story. Anyone trying to argue otherwise is delusional.

This. 3 games spread between multiple consoles and portables...i guess some of the bar low for proper history

Im tired of seeing Goku and Luffy NOOOO. It gets really insulting with people like Rayman and Assassin creed guy keep getting mentioned.

If they dont have proper history with Nintendo. 0%.

Agreed. Sonic was a special case, simply because people have always wanted to see Mario vs. Sonic.

But honestly, Snake had no business being in the game. Yes, he had two old (and by all accounts bad) ports on NES. But he's known for the MGS series, and even though the Twin Snakes remake did come out on GC, I still just felt like he never fit SB. The obvious Konami choice would/should have been Simon Belmont, with an awesome CV based background, and a bunch of awesome, classic game inspired CV music to boot. THAT would have fit, and been awesome.

Solid Snake? Meh. So when I see people say "Oh they should totally put Bayonetta in it, because Nintendo's HELLA publishing Bayonetta 2, so why not, she'd be awesome".......it's facepalm worthy. It truly is. It isn't just a matter of "has ONE of their games been on a Nintendo console ever". It's the principle of "do you belong/FIT in the Smash Bros. universe", just as much, if not more. Mega Man fits because his 6 original games were on NES, he was a huge part of NES history. The first 3 (and best 3) Mega Man X games were on SNES. The forgotten gem MMV was on Game Boy. Plenty of history there, AND he fits the universe, he fits in with the other cast of characters.

The day that SB becomes a "hey, who else can we throw in here just to provide fan service?" franchise, and not, fundamentally at it's heart a celebration of Nintendo and it's consoles, is the day the series really goes down the shitter. I'm not denying that on some level, if it could ever happen, some kind of "Video Game All-Stars" crossover wouldn't be cool if done right. But Smash Bros. does not need to be, and should not be it.

I have a bias for Solid Snake and MG in general, so i was pumped he was in Brawl, that game had my 3 fav video game characters of all time in the same game. (Sonic, Luigi, Snake) but i still agree with everything you said. I didnt even use Snake, didnt like him in it and TBH i wouldnt be sad if he isnt in the next one, but he probably will be.

Goku is not a Namco-Bandai character. Their involvement with Dragon Ball is just limited to having the license to make videogames based on the franchise, as well as other kinds of products through the Bandai side. A hypothetical appearence of him in Smash might even be outside of what they are allowed to do, having to renegotiate the rights to put him there. It's basically like asking Activision for TMNT or Marvel characters...

Letting Goku in is, at the very least, opening the door to all manga/anime characters to appear in Smash in the future. None of Nintendo's "odd moves" set a new precedent like this would, so that's a moot point. If anyone is seriously interested in arguing in favor of Goku being here, then they would need to take all this into account. A justification for all this.

I actually doubt he'll be in the new game (which, goddamit, should have a real name, not just "For Wii U"). They only put him in, specifically, because Kojima "begged" them to. I would really, REALLY love to see them put Simon in, but I don't know about that either.

Would like to see Professor Layton to appear in the next Smash Bros myself.

no sweat off my back and yes it needs a real name. If they are really going with that...oh boy. i dont see Simon either.
