He is right, after all, the PS4 and Xbox One sold only 1 million each, while the WiiU sold 3,5 million.
Do not mention the fact that the PS4 and XOne sold 1 million each IN A DAY, while the WiiU sold 3,5 million in 15 months...

yeah 1 million nice and all... but what will hapen after it?

the first week/days are always very good since the the called hard core fanbase will buy it.

I think it will slow down for sure after, let´s go crazy, ten million. Lots of "gramers" are out of it for tablets and mobiles.

But, if the cool games keep coming, then the consoles will sell, WiiU too. Actually, the One has the advantage, the knickt 2.0 will appeal to stupid dancing young female audiences trying to imitate Lady Gaga or some shit like that...

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Xbox One UK sales about to overtake Wii U's lifetime UK sales, according to sources

Microsoft’s Xbox One sold around 150k units in its first 48 hours in the UK, MCV understands.

Chart-Track this morning confirmed that Xbox One doubled the week one UK sales of its predecessor Xbox 360, which was launched worldwide in 2005.

Numbers released the week after Xbox 360’s launch showed that the console sold 70k in the UK in the same period, although MCV has since been informed that the Xbox One number is in fact slightly over double this.

Perhaps more tellingly this means that Xbox One is, according to the same source, now just a few thousand units short of beating the Wii U’s total UK sales accrued since its release a year ago this week.

I said it here. I say it now.
Wii U WILL BE THE LEADER of the 8th Generation Consoles BY FAR. It will outsell the XBox One & PlayStation 4 HANDILY throughout the generation.]
And should The Revolution go as planned, this will be the LAST CONSOLE WAR between Nintendo, Sony, & Microsoft.
Wii U obtains what was denied to Wii. Wii U at last becomes EVERYBODY'S CONSOLE.

Oh & you want a number? Here's one for you: 12 million Wii U's sold by December 31, 2013.
Here's another: 35 million Wii U's sold by December 31, 2014.
Here's one more: 60 million Wii U's sold by December 31, 2015.
And one more for the road: 240 million LIFETIME Wii U sales.

My god...this is horrible lol

Lucas has decided not to answer anyone's questions about how WiiU is going to start selling 1.5m weekly for the rest of the year, and is now stating this thread is here for the long haul not just 2013. How obvious, already changing the goal posts. Predictable.

Oh really?

Maybe we should make a counter when PS4&Xbone catch Wii U. Won't be long.

your first number: Already failed

Your second number: Will fail even more miserably

Your third number: Oh... dude, that is just sad.

And your final 240m number: Hahahahahaha. pls

Well think about this. His predictions won't come true, that's for sure

But let's suppose that we end the 8th gen and he was right, he just missed the numbers by a little margin. That would be epic, this thread would melt the internet. We should save this thread for the future, who knows what it might happen xD.

John, do you still read Malstrom?

Not as much as I used to.
But I still check him out sometimes.

He has A LOT of insight on the videogaming business & I enjoy his views even if I don't agree entirely with all of them.
I thought his writing on the Theory of Cycles was DEAD ON. I thought it was BRILLIANT.
How it explains game development at different eras: Tabletop, Arcade, Cinematic, Social/Interactive.
I believe that is a FACT not just a theory the way he explained it.

At the start of the 7th generation, I wish I did things the same way he did & just wrote indepedently instead of backing that stupid horse called Popzart/Popzara.
My money was not strong enough & I wanted a site that I could keep funded independently so it could last for years & years in the infamous imperanance of the World Wide Web. I have never liked the impermanence of the internet.
I hate how good sites with good information can just disappear out of the blue just like that & all of it is lost forever.
So I thought working with that Popzart/Popzara organization would help me achieve that goal.
Hindsight & that 20/20...... *Sigh*

Well something good came out of that fiasco.
When I had VGChartz team up with Popzara a few years ago, I interviewed Sean Malstrom.
Here's the VGChartz version of that interview.

John Lucas Interviews Sean Malstrom

P.S.: Maybe I should check out his latest observations. Maybe we can do another interview independently right here on VGChartz.

That would require Lucas to actually admit he was wrong, and that the WiiU is not going to be the best selling console in history. It's easier to just dodge all those questions and focus on pointing out flaws in other people's arguments.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

You're right, when he's wrong he usually just flees the site. I have to say it's disappointing, stand by you predictions I say, don't run away.

I think at this point, the wii u might sell a total of 7-8 million units by the end of the year. 12 millions seems to be too high for a home console. It would need a miracle.
