For Zod95 I have one thing to say about Nintendo: Shigeru Miyamoto set the tone for Nintendo games many years ago. He said many times, that he is not interested in photorealistic graphics, he doesn't like violence and is not interested in making typcial arcade type games (meant are typical arcade games from the mid 90' to early 00') on consoles.

Sure, I see a lot of violence in Gran Turismo and Forza. Those games are full of blood and terror...LOL...I've seen better excuses to avoid hard work in photo-realism. I'm sure Miyamoto has also interesting excuses to avoid all the other 8 requirements.

maybe because photo realism is killing the devs since they dive into it while the prices for it are far to high?

Zod and Final are poluting this thread...

Zod95 I haven't written photorealistic graphics AND (at the same time) violent. I made a comma: photorealistic graphics, violent games. So, I clearly meant both types (i.e. Shooters and Racing Games as well as other photorealistic games).

And lifetime?

Less than the Wii but more than the PS4 and XBone    :D

'Less than Wii' is too vague.

That was my point. Nintendo isn't engaged into photo-realism because it costs too much. I wouldn't say it kills the devs. Gran Turismo and Forza should be profitable IPs. But it surely lowers the ROI (return on investments) to values Nintendo wouldn't accept.

Ok, I thought the comma was to seperate the claim from its justification. In that case, Miyamoto hasn't justified at all his position.

The Console War is over. The Resolution War has just begun. Sony and Microsoft will soon kill their already flagging videogame divisions just to appease their already shrinking fanbase. The once insane budgets of the 7th generation will seem like a mere pittance compared to what is needed to push these future cash sinkholes. Nintendo will remains stoic through it all.

Where is the evidence their fanbase is shrinking??

PS2 158m + Xbox 24m = 182m

PS360 = 160m (but will be 190m - 200m)

"The resolution war" will blow over, and all those devs will strive for amazing looking games and it won't break the bank because those devs have had coming up to a decades practice.
