Although the minute it is announced Capcom and Nintendo will be flooded by people complaining about characters left out or ones they want in so maybe from a individual developer stand point all that grief might turn the Capcom side off. |
Yeah, the idea of having another Smash hit per gen could convince Nintendo... ^_^ Something akin to Power Stone as I suggested before could work, which was actually created around the same time Smash was. It has many elements in common, yet it's different enough to separate one from the other. And it would also give Capcom the chance to either continue Power Stone as well, or just satisfy the fans that have been asking for it for a while...

Arcade-style, 4-players, platforming and power ups, and enviroment obstacles. All this with a focus on 3D gameplay rather than Smash's 2D one and more traditional energy bars. With a few changes perhaps, I could see this working out well for a Nintendo/Capcom crossover.
Of course, the idea of any crossover between so many popular characters always ignites the passion from us fans... On the other hand, it provides an easy way to manipulate us... And according to my experience, I've come to the conclusion that these companies, and Capcom in particular, like money very much...
