We know the product suffered because of the port, but we know the port was done because Microsoft paid for it.

Ahhhh, the old "FFXIII would have been SOOOO much better had it stayed PS3 exclusive!!!" argument.  Classic.

I presume that goes for games like FFXIII-2 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance as well?  Not to mention the upcoming KHIII which is no longer exclusive to the PS brand... I'm sure they'll be some reviews criticizing the game and saying the graphics and cutscenes would have been way better if it were a PS4 exclusive when it comes out.

I'm not saying it would have been soooooo much better (well, the PS3 version was better in every way, but that's not the point), but there was content that was cut to fit the release window + fitting it all on 3 DVDs.

It didn't affect either of those because it was planned to be multiplatform from the start, not when they're past halfway into the development cycle with the decision being brought down by those outside of the development team. I doubt there nearly as many differences in ports this generation because the two pieces of hardware are so incredibly similar. That said, exclusives will always look and play better than most multiplatform titles for obvious reasons.
