The poll shows peoples attachment to companies who dont care about them are pathetic. they love a company more than the hobby. A company that WILL never care about them.

Be a fan yes. Let it destroy your hobby, no.

People get attached because of what the company internally offers that another one doesn't. Nintendo has a void no one can fill, Sega did and Sony does as well.

but to say you wont continue buying other newer systems still sows a lack of vision in their hobby  habits. I love Xbox. But if it died Id continue buying Wii or PS as  know Id still have fun. Yeah Im sure Id miss me my Forza or Halo. But am I that shallow in my hobby?

Hell No.

The gaming industry would do just fine with any one or even all three dying off. gaming history is littered with the rotting carcasses of companies people thought gaming couldn't do without.

Did you forget to take your happy pills again? lol

But my heart lies with wrpgs. oh skyrim my skyrim where have you gone?

I can say the same for Final Fantasy and jrpgs: OH FINAL FANTASY MY FINAL FANTASY WHERE HAVE YOU GONE?

If sony stops making consolos, nintendo will own japan and square will release final fantasy on their system :P

GREAT IDEA!!!!!!

Proud gamer of Nintendo and Sony consoles since 2003.

Life will go on.

No need for them in this instance the reality of this is that this situation has occurred repeatedly. Such a happening isn't an overnight thing, developers would see it coming as would Sony, developers would start supporting one of the other consoles so not even the games would change much. If anything the exiting of one of them would probably spur some interesting innovation as someone would see it as a huge opportunity, e.g. Nvidia, Valve, Apple et al, gaming could even end up being better for it. Having said that I hope none of the 3 exit as they all contribute rather well and spur each other on at the moment.

God

In all seriousness  unless you are on video game forums people who buy PS will have MS as their second choice, unless they want a secondary console like NIntendo.  The so called "console wars" only really exist online. So most people don't really care if they swich. Also muiltplatform games and their sales prove this just saying.

Technically, no PS fans majorly would not because MS doesn't have very much variety on the exclusive end. They would only go to MS for third party, much like at one period or another every brand except for Sega has enjoyed decent sales via third party support. If Nintendo got great third party support back, they would be much more likely to switch back to Nintendo. That and Nintendo needs to up their multimedia and online game. If they cover those two things and bring the games they bring with newer IP's you don't really have to worry about Microsoft. Halo and Forza would be the only things Sony gamers could look forward to. Forza would become the standard. With Nintendo it would be everything else.

Oh I was just messing with you.  The "littered with the rotting carcasses..." part was just a little dramatic and painted a dark picture.  Sounds like something from GOW or the upcoming RYSE lol.

Nothing wrong or bad about what you wrote, I was just making a joke.  And for the record, I agree with your last statements.

Yeah, but If MS went away at least we got online and Halo out of it. Outside of that we're still covered for everything else. With Nintendo we're losing the great mascot generation and the experiments therin if they left. If Sony left the variety of gaming for better or worse on the exclusive end is gone.  For serious gamers they have put a stamp on the industry for what they're about. I would play another console, but the void created if Sony left would be gone and it would be highly noticable. Nintendo cannot replace Sony and Microsoft cannot but if you love gaming its no reason to give up. Most of Microsofts exclusives are PC games and third party titles they paid for to keep away from Sony for good or either periods of time, so really if MS went missing I wouldnt feel it unless I was the biggest Halo fan on earth.

I would enjoy the old consoles i have kept over the years, much like i go back and enjoy a genesis or dreamcast from time to time. as long as their are games, i will be a gamer. plus even if they sold off their IPs someone will pick it up and run with it, maybe even multi platform to whichever systems are out. Same if nintendo went out, i wouldnt lose any sleep over it, its just a game system either way.
