All sony fans would have to come over to X1, if they want the same amount of graphics ( yes you could just get PC but whats stopping you know?). I really hope that doesn't happen. Then I will have to pay out my ass for HD gaming. Sony keeps things cheaper for me as a gamer. I can't stand them but they are a necessary evil, LOL. However I own both nintendo and Xbox. I got a Wii U, Wii, 3-xbox 360's, 2-3ds's(mine XL). One 3DS and xbox 360 is my ladies. I have one of my  360's in the living room and one in the gaming room, for friends. I hate sharing screens.

However back on point. I guess I would have to just fight with myself. I love nintendo, I think mostly for nostalgia. I love the new Dk Country on 3DS. Also I like that the Wii U can be played as others watch TV. This works for both my lady and I.

P.S I'm building a bad ass PC.  well going to.


Did you ever sit to think that Xbox gamers could easily switch to the PC if the Xbox ceased to exist? Sony and Nintendo cannot be replaced because they make too many exclusives that have actually stuck with people.

It will be the most epic battle of all time. Honestly I rather have MS leave. I don't like them anymore. Sony at least has a large exclusive library that spans 4 generations I can get on their classics store.

I also would like to know that the original PS did not expand gaming at all. Only in Europe but in America and Japan things were the same.

But sony wanted to have the rights for all games that were made on the cd's so Nintendo didn't like that at all and "betrayed" Sony by going to Phillips behind their backs. CD-i was born...

There would be rainbows around the world. They would even shine brightly at night. The angels would even sing.

But seriously, I think Nintendo would fill the gap. The niche Nintendo is filling right now simply is being filled by them because there's too much competition between Sony and Microsoft right now.

Right now the competition between Microsoft and Sony is what is propelling the consoles forward.

I don't see Sony going out of business. It would sell off businesses before it went out of business.

Sony didnt want rights to the games, they wanted a larger cut of the profit than Nintendo expected and Nintendo walked out on them. Technically Sony was doing all the work, really. Sony got angry because Nintendo was comissioning Kutaragi while under contract with them behind their back to make the Playstation and Kutaragi was a big fan of Nintendo and he saw gaming as the future because of how his kids took to the famicom. When Sony found out about Kutaragi and Nintendo making tech behind their back without notice from them they contacted Nintendo and wrote their own contract and helped fund the project to optimize the output.

If Sony left the gaming hardware business, there really wouldn't be much of a loss. This will probably be the last pure gaming console from them(or M$ or Nintendo) anyway. With all of the game development that they do, it would just move to another format. So, no net loss. Most of the loss would be from people taking a personal interest in a company that has been milking them for $$$ just like everyone else. When Sony or M$ or Nintendo start paying me to play, then i will care whether they are in the business. Hardware manufacturers come and go. Remember, it's the games that count.
