Why do I own the consoles I do? So I can play the games I like duh! Went Sony over Microsoft because A.) They didn't even exist when I got a PS1, my first console that was 100% mine. B.) The exclusives! Though there are less of them now, but they still appeal to me more than the ones Microsoft has. C.) Many of friends had Playstations. D.) Features like DVD player, free online, etc.

Exclusives mainly.

Sega Megadrive - Sonic, Castle of Illusion and World of Illusion.
Dreamcast - Sonic Adventure, Shenmue, JSR, Crazy Taxi.
Gameboy Colour - Pokemon.
Gameboy Advance - Loved the GBC, so bought this one too.
Nintendo DS - Got it as a present.
Gamecube - Zelda and other games. Tbh I can't remember much about the console, didn't care for it much.
Playstation - Mostly third party exclusives; Metal Gear Solid, Tekken, Final Fantasy VII plus a load of other great games.
Playstation 2 - Same the the above, with followup games/titles.
Playstation 3 - Most diverse library of games plus lots of console exclusives not available to get on PC.
PSP - Portable PS games, awesome.
Xbox - Halo.
Xbox 360 - Halo 3 and Alan Wake. Plus, I got pressured into getting one for COD4 -_- (what a mistake that turned out to be).

Also, why are people bringing up PC when OP specifically asked about consoles?

It's alright to list PC's as well =) as long as it's gaming related ;)

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

PS1 -> PS2 -> PS3 and I've had no reason to look elsewhere. They have the only exclusives I really have wanted. Nintendo's own stuff has never interested me in the least, to me it seems like they just keep reiterating the same kiddie stuff over and over. No offense, that's just how it seems to me. On the other hand, I've never understood the appeal of shooters either (Haw haw, I killed you 87 times and you killed me only 76 times, cool!), so Microsoft is not a viable option out of the remaining two consoles. Online to me is a non-issue because I play only single player games, and I don't want any gimmicks whatsoever. Just a regular controller and good, story driven, athmospheric games with nice visuals and music for me, thanks.

i own a PS3 and to me, its just much better than anything else on the market
