Xbox 360 - I bought it for Forza, Minecraft and Halo (the only 3 Xbox games I own)

I buy everything so it better be exclusives!

Wii U because I knew there would be games I would want to come out for it. AKA for the exclusives.

All my friends had it, so i had to get it also.. lol

I usually go with Nintendo "+ X". Not counting PC.

I'll have Nintendo every generation because there's gonna be a Zelda game. They could take away everything else, I'd still buy it if there's going to be a Zelda game. 3D Mario, Mario Kart and all the other excellent games are essentially bonus, even if a lot of them rank among my favorite games ever. I have such confidence that the Nintendo games that matter are so good, that buying the Nintendo console in any gen is a no-brainer for me. The handhelds are the same story essentially, with the added benefit that there's never even been a true alternative for me. So far, I've never been disappointed.

The "+ X" however is more complicated.

For now, for two generations I've had the Sony offering; the PS1 and the PS3. I was too young to buy one myself back then, but we got the PlayStation back in '95 or '96 because of the novelty of CD's. And the big exclusive games that came with it, compared to the gen before that anyway. We got the PS3 before the Wii to go with the new HD tv. XBox wasn't very big in Europe, so the automatic choice was Sony again to get into HD gaming. HD was the biggest lure here, though the interest was solely on exclusive games like Motorstorm and the then upcoming Uncharted. After that we never even thought about a 360, there was no point; everything I wanted was on PS3.

During the 6th gen, the 'second console' was SEGA's Dreamcast. We got that basically because of SoulCalibur and because of the games looking so far beyond what we had. The PS2 after that never interested me, and frankly it didn't get the games to impress me after the Dreamcast got an exclusive line-up that satisfied all my needs. Naturally, Dreamcast faded away, but the PS2 was already 'old news' by then and the GameCube and XBox were released. PS2 could never interest me anymore because it was outdated and most of my time was spent on PC. Moreover, I could get a fair amount of XBox playtime at my cousin's.

Before the 5th gen, basically from the very late 3rd gen upwards, I didn't have any influence in the console of choice due to young age, I played on an old Odyssey2 from my mother's youth, and on the NES and SNES next to the PC/Mac. Without actually realising what it was what I playing exactly of course.

So in a nutshell :

- Nintendo always because of exclusives
- A second console based on a cool feature (CD, HD) and exclusives

I've never refused to get a console because of some feature though, but the XBox One is the first I can give that distinction (if it would've 'won' the battle for my second console against PS4 in the first place).

Cause i am not willing to spend so much money on a top line pc( i play pc game more than consoles, dem league legends ) and i think sony beats microsoft and nintendo in every aspect gaming related , that is why i choose sony.

Amen, it's in a league of its own.

I bought the 360 cause I thought the Kinect looked pretty cool and to play Halo. Unfortunately Kinect was a bit of a let down but I mainly play multiplats so I could have chosen the PS3 at the time cause it was actually cheaper bundled with the move.
