Interesting question, I'm thinking probably not, most of their fanbase is handheld only now and that's clearly where the focus is and should be.
Sony is the opposite though, there'll likely be another Sony handheld but possibly more in the style of a tablet/phone. Sure hope I'm wrong on both though.
Yes, but they will be more multi functional devices (i.e. smartphones too.), or really simple ones target for little kids (like a Leapfrog.)
When flexible screens become more of an option, I think it will more of a phone, that rolls out into a larger gaming device.
Yeah, the iPhone 5S.
Ok, I'll get serious now. I really wish there is a successor to the PS Vita, but I think that the Vita could still be saved if they make a proper redesign; the Vita is just too big sized. It would be great if Sony made a really thin Vita a little bigger than an iPhone, It would also compete against the iPhone if it could be used as a phone as well.
I think that there's a lot of people like me who are waiting for a redesign and don't plan to buy the current one at all, so the sooner they release it, the better for the platform.

There is a big difference.
Nintendo has bigger home console focused game series than Sony does with handhelds. Killzone and Uncharted are not handheld focused game series.
It would either be a Smartphone or a Notebook type device that can play dedicated games and Cross-Play with whatever PS console that is available.

Of course. Nintendo said that they were planning on another Handheld. It's actually in their "thought process" stage right now.
Oh... are we talking about Sony Handhelds? Hrm... quite possibly.

Easily. If you think Nintendo is set to become third party, you'd be surprised. Here's something to be more informed: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/07/31/exactly-how-bad-is-the-nintendo-situation |
Thanks for the link, it paints a clear picture. The wii U isn't down and out, just down. If Nintendo can market their strong lineup of first party titles going in and out of the holidays I think we'll see it pick up to at least gamecube levels (even without a price cut). With MH 4 and Pokemon on the horizon for 3ds their still going to be posting profits in the black. Digital sales also help Nintendo's bottom line. IN the past these companies had to shave off an amount for distribution and retailers now that's slowly but surely going away. THis will lead to a leaner Nintendo that maybe doesn't need to sell as much software to turn a decent profit (so long as they continue their digital distrubtion push). This and the fact that Nintendo is figuring out how to develop for an HD console costs should certainly decline on the R & D side of things as well.
OP : Honestly No. With sony looking to sell off their entertainment division, I see them making the intellegent move of moving away from the portable gaming industry. The company is trying to move towards getting rid of their unprofitable divisions, and focus more on their core/money making divisons (where they have a strong foothold). I don't see sony making making another portable due to the high amount of risk associated with it. They are commited to their smartphone division which is really strong and I can see them launching mobile versions of their games (like MS did with Halo Spartan Assault for WP8). But never again another dedicated handheld that hemorrhages money.
