Sometimes it works, both PS1 and PS2 were initially sold at loss. Other times this strategy fails like it happened to PS3 and the original Xbox.

People have to stop with the 2 SKU option it makes absolutely no sense.... we are not talking about an eyetoy here but a POTENTIAL game changer here... so either they have a 100% attach rate or 0 and they kill it they can't have a middle ground.... even if some people won't ever use it....

And from everything I have seen so far it makes very little sense to not have it, since unless you only play the disc you put in and don't do anything else with the Xbox (which means you'd be better off buying a pc anyway) it looks like even the biggest Kinect hater would be silly not to use it to use properly the Xbox first and third party services...

might as well just call it xfinity.  so much cleaner and to the point than x1.

I don't believe HandyTips was the original source.  Can't remember but I believe I read it on Eurogamer first.  It was on a mainstream site where I originally read it.

Do it. The mass market is still largely unaware of the sweeping changes.

Price cut rumor? Even better. Because a loss on units is better then a loss on lack of purchasing.
