Are they giving away the entire game, including the exlcusive Shadow Jago, or is there some lame catch to this like you ONLY get Shadow Jago to play with?

If it's the entire game, with an exlusive character, and a year of Xbox Live that seems like a pretty good deal.

well the game is free/can only use jango so im thinking it gets you the shadow skin for jango

They should just let people buy the full game for $59. I dont want to deal with free to play/ pay to win bullshit.

My understanding is you can do just that but for some people that dont want every character the option is there to buy one at a time or as needed.

One good thing about this is the online portion should always be full of people to play against. granted most will be using that one free character. Kinda like Wow3 where most people were orcs because of the free to play demo

You can buy the full game immediately.  You have the option.  Either buy the characters you want or buy the entire game.  It is your decision and is a perfect approach to FTP gaming.  This allows you to both test the game and only buy the parts of the game you want as many people dont care for every fighter in fighting games.

So you get only Shadow Jago with a 12 month Xbox Live Godl subscription? Or do you get the whole game like Sony does it with Drive club?

This "deal" bothers me because it's a lame approach to make me get a gold sub.
Killer Instinct will be available to download and play with just one character(Jago) for free, without gold sub I believe. Maybe Shadow Jago is an alternative Jago character that we'll get for free. But they make it sound like you get a free game for the less informed folks.
I love Xbox but MS needs to get its PR talk together.

They are giving away a free year of Live Gold. PS4 does paywall too now, so this can only be seen as good news.

You don't get the full Drive Clup game if your a PS Plus member. I believe you don't get all the cars and tracks or something like that.
