The lack of Suikoden fans makes me sad. It was better than FF8 in every single way! Well, except graphically, I guess, though I personally love the Suikoden artwork and sprites rule.

Man, that's impossible to say. There are so many awesome games that were released that year I wouldn't be able to do a list with the best, though certainly Age of Empires II and FreeSpace 2 are one of the best games I ever played.

I would have to save my vote for super smash brothers. I don't feel there are many games that can provide that level of replay value. I actually just played it for a few hours with a friend and we both had a blast. I don't think I could say that for any of the games on your list.
