Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft to allow developers to start self-publishing on Xbox 360 as early as August – report

VG247

The Pinball Arcade developer, FarSight Studios, has said Microsoft will allow developers to start self-publishing on Xbox 360 as early as August.

The studio dropped the information in a newsletter that Polygon was privy to.

“Microsoft has just announced that indie developers (like FarSight) can now self-publish on Xbox Live Arcade instead of being required to find publishers for their games,” the newsletter stated. “This means we can bring The Pinball Arcade back to the 360 ourselves, and also opens the door to an Xbox One version of The Pinball Arcade in the future!”

FarSight further stated in the newsletter that the self-publishing program will open in August.

Microsoft said earlier this week it will announced further details on the initiative during gamescom.

So this means that Oddworld Abe HD will come to Xbox 360!!!??? :) If so, brilliant!!

MS seems to be moving very quickly. I must say, this surprises me a lot. Companies like MS do not make changes this fast so I wonder if these things were moving in this direction way before E3.

wait they can selfpublish even in XBLA that's great no need to dig in the indie store crap hole then
