Forums - Nintendo - The Wonderful 101 Will Be A Mighty 10GB Download

Looking to go digital-only to purchase the Wii U’s exclusive ‘mass hero action’ title The Wonderful 101? Well, all that mass action is clearly putting on the extra weight in the download department, as The Wonderful 101 will take a mighty 10.2GB from your Wii U hard drive.  Digital game downloads tend to vary a lot in size with Pikmin 3 coming in at the lower end of the scale at 4GB, but Lego City Undercover peaking at the very top with a meaty 20GB download. And with Nintendo keen to raise the digital bar with all sorts of promotions – including the recent European deal where if you buy Pikmin 3 on the eShop, you can get The Wonderful 101 at 30 per cent off - it looks as if you may need to invest in an external hard drive. Will you be picking The Wonderful 101 up digitally or via retail when it’s released in Europe on August 23 and North America on September 15?

Is that good or bad? I have to be honest I have never even cared about how big a game is, even on the PC. Puts it close to Vanilla WoW if I remember correctly though

Dat HD-DVD capicity in action!

Ya, but on Wii U the console has very limited available space, people will most likely have to buy a seperate HDD themselves.

That's a fair size. The last few PS3 games I've DL'd have been 12GB, 9GB, and 7GB. Lego City is the one that's chunky.

LOL what are you talking about? What limited space? I got 1TB of storage on Wii U...

Obviously you dont own one so please refrain from telling others what it cant and cannot do, especially when you are that wrong about it.

Maybe you meant to say, you are using a 1TB External HD, unless there is a Wii U with a 1TB sku that was released in the market without anyone knowing. ^^

Honestly there is no need to act like a jerk, what I said was perfectly right.  You don't have 1TB of storage on your Wii U, you have an external harddrive.

Dupe, locking (all further discussion can be taken here):
