Tell me if Sony has confirmed yet, please.

acutally he confirmed it and made fun of the overreaction.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
5GB is still more than enough for the types of games we will be seeing in the first few years of this gen, I.e up scaled games from this generation.
Though that is an awful lot of OS RAM...
This is great to know. What this confirmed allocation shows is that the PS4 OS is far more potent for other uses than it was originally perceived to be. At the very least it shows it can become far more developed with full OS updates in the future.
4.5GB at the very minimum is already plenty for games let alone up to 5.5GB; most games maxed out on PC today eat up about 1.5GB to 3GB (w/ AMD GPU) @1080p(w/ other processes accounted for).

Don't we need RAM for Sleep in PC's to do quick supsend/resume? That's the reason Sony do it, becauase they have one second resume from games suspended by turning off PS4 as well which is done storing everthing in RAM and resuming it back when we turn it on like Sleep in PC.
So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.
PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.
Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.
Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

Yes, noboday confirmed because its not final since Sony just wanted to keep those useful RAM for future since no game needs 7GB right now so they told developers right now use only upto 5.5GB which no game do this except Sony First party studios but they worked based on 4GB RAM before so no worries there. This RAM will be upped based on the needs of the Developers in future so its sure that developers will have up to 7GB Ram in futue, but for now they don't need it so sony said in sdk only 5.5GB for them.

But that matain the full state of the RAM... all 8GB will be the same when the system go back... it is like Stand By feature on PC and not Suspend (suspend saves the RAM into HDD and shotdown everything... then resume copy from HDD to RAM but the process is way slow compared to Stand By).
Since when did DF become an untrustworthy source? We've had years of "I'll wait for DF to judge" but now the shoe is on the other foot...
