I don't like NeoGaf xD
He's right, it's really good news for everyone involved. He's also right that it's only half the equation. The changes are also going to need to be in the way Microsoft treats smaller developers. The reason Sony has made so much recent headway is that they've poured a lot of effort into reaching out to developers and making them feel important and welcome. It's a change in attitude as much as procedure.
Still, if Microsoft has gone this far, then they know what the problems are. We'll likely see more changes in the way their staff interacts with developers who aren't represented by lawyers and businessmen.

Me too, the site is infested by Nintendo trolls. Overall news quality still is better than on N4G, though.

Technically its early, since November is more then 3 months away

MS has always been a leader in "support". Only its polocies needed tweaking.
Why are indies so important all of a sudden? The majority of gamers don't even play them and very few end up being successful.

I know what this sounds like coming from me....but gamers didn't much care for the indie scene until recently. Sure Xbox gamers are the most supportive of the indie games scene (ironically) but it never took the spotlight until Journey got a ton of awards and MS's stance on indies before the 180.
I have a feeling indie support isn't that relevant to the average gamer...but they latched onto it because it was an excuse to hate on MS.

And we already know that November will come and go WITHOUT indies being able to use normal XBox Ones as dev units. This has already been stated by MS And it should not be a surprise since it requires to modify at least the Hypervisor software. Given that MS is late in the development cycle, they simply do not have the time to change all this until some time into 2014.
Seriously, this is about the fifth or sixth thread about "awesome indie support". Is that really necessary?

The self-publishing is not going at launch too... everything will be released in the first 12 moths life of the console.
