Forums - General - Is thw Wii seriously hard to come by???

Ok seruous question, I live in a small town(9000) I am an hour and a half from the nearest Metropolitan area. The only store for videogames is Fred Meyer electronics.  Everytime I go in there, no Wii's are in sight but the original PS3's are there. I know funding is limited in this small town and thats why people here are not buying the PS3 but........IS the Wii's shortage nationwide or is that just a rumor? No wii's have been here for a while so are they being shipped to bigger cities only or is there a shortage? IF so I am glad I purchased mine at launch.

From what I understand Wii availability is the exception ... Pretty much everwhere in North America (and through out most of the world) the Wii is pretty hard to come by

I live in New York City all I know there is a huge line before the store open when there is a shipment coming in. Shocking to see a line even after 5 months of release.

Same here in Indiana. I actually saw two in Wally World the other day. Went back next day and gone. They still come in, but you either have to wait in line or get lucky. Pk9394 is right. It's shocking after 5 months to still command this kind of buzz every freaking Sunday when the big box stores release them again.

I'm a Canadian. Since it's launch, I've seen more wild turkeys in my backyard than I have Wii's in stock.

If your wondering, that puts it at Wild turkey's 1, Wii in stock 0

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Hardly any here in Chicagoland.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Of course the traditional Itrackr.com check says National availability is down to 12% again. :) With several stores offering'em a few weeks ago the trackers actually upped to the 40% range, highest I've ever seen for the console. And of course the occasionally-friendly natives danced around the campfire over it. ;)

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

i'm in france, checking for fun everytime i got downtown or to the mall (once a week probably) and never saw one in 5 months. I got mine at launch as my friends did and since then, not one in store (if you preorder, it takes a couple weeks usually). pretty crazy stuff for a 600 000 urban area.
