Forums - PC - Outlast coming to Steam for PC Sept. 4.

Red Barrels' survival horror title Outlast will launch for Windows PC through Steam on Sept. 4, the developer announced today.

The game will be available through Valve's service for $19.99.

During Sony's E3 press conference in June, it was announced that Outlast will launch on PlayStation 4, making its console debut on Sony's next-gen platform. The release date for the PS4 version is still unannounced. The game was also nominated for the Best Downloadable category of 2013 E3 Game Critics Awards.

Red Barrels' co-founder Philippe Morin told Polygon the game is built around one core mechanic: making the player suffer.

The found-footage horror game was first announced last fall for release on Windows PC in 2013.

In Outlast, players explore the Mount Massive Asylum, wandering its halls in search of clues to the institution's demise — and trying desperately to avoid the insidious creatures trapped within it. Players step into the shoes of investigative reporter Miles Upshur, who has been brought to the building by an anonymous tipster to solve a particularly gory crime.

Seems like a good budget price. That picture above sure doens't look pretty. When i say pretty i don't mean polygons but more so the gruesome nature. Lot of people dig that though. So jump in Sep 4th.
