I was looking at my friends list yesterday and noticed you didn't have an XB1 avatar, could have sworn you had a XB1!
Why are you resisting?
|
Because I have other things that take priority over gaming atm but I want one lol Gunna try and stick to my "I'd buy one when Halo comes out" plan.

Ah fair enough. Well they will cut to $399 this E3/September/Holiday. 100%, they have no choice.
|
I wouldn't bet on it... they could very well keep it the same and do bundles for AAA title launch.... and who knows what other features they'll come up with... I think on that front they have some cards they haven't played yet....
everything points that they are not extremelly worried by the current sales rate....
an other approach could be differenciation instead of trying to compete up front against PS4
we'll see I think this gen will be more exciting than the last one for sale number fans

They're losing in every country they're in. They're worried. They will be slaughtered this holiday if they don' cut the price.

first part: and???? this game is not about sales but profit.... if they can generate 50% more profit than PS they can be 40% behind and sill make more money.... (of course this is a stretched out example, but while we are worried about sales as gamers, MS is more worried about profit as a business) now both are tied and loosing too much ground is not good... but if it doesn't get dramatical they should be fine even if second by a good margin, especially if they manage to garantee a better/wealthier revenue stream to developers... because install base is relevant to Devs but like MS not as much as profit....
and second part: well their current behavior and plans don't seem to indicate any worry on their part.... they adjust price in UK to currency exchange rate nothing more and no sign of global intent... they bundle TF like we expected no matter what the sales would be without any real incentive IMO.... they seem to be in no rush to release in more countries.... they don't plan apparently to release Halo 5 early to push sales.... they take their sweet time to demonstrate the potential of the kinect even with stupid apps like kinect labs on 360 (cause I pretty sure they have a ton of this at MS R&D)...
to me they don't really behave like someone has worries about it's current results.... I'm sure we are more worried than they are.... lol
they could easealy slash the TF bundle at 450 imo if they wanted to be agressive I believe....
well we'll see... I personally hope so, I'm all for more sales for my console of choice.... but I don't expect MS to bend too easily... they'll play that game on the long run and will take into concideration all their unplayed cards and the potential power of their unified ecosystem in the future.... Sony PS4 will stay what it is from now till the end of the gen with a few add ons here and their.... MS can leverage their software/features/ ecosystem on the long run and make its XBox evolve way more over the course of the gen than Sony is technically capable of... being a HW company has its limitation in this industry over the more flexible SW one in the long run.... and we can hate MS as much as we want they have some major SW muscles lol :P
like I said this gen is set up to be very interesting.... I'm personnally not impressed by HW superiority.... at least not in the console gaming business.... IF I was a multiplat guy and I were to rank all gaming platforms by level of interest for me it would be like that: XBox One, WiiU, PC, PS4.....
