As part of new program, players who purchase DLC pass on Xbox 360 can download it on Xbox One at no extra cost.

Microsoft today announced the Season Pass Guarantee program, which will allow those who purchase a downloadable content pass for select Xbox 360 games to download the Xbox One equivalent at no extra cost.

Major publishers like Activision, Electronic Arts, and Ubisoft have signed on for the program, Microsoft said. Confirmed titles for the program thus far are Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4.

"Season Pass Guarantee makes transitioning from Xbox 360 to Xbox One an easier and smoother process, so you don’t have to worry about which console you're playing games on or repurchasing your existing add-ons on Xbox One," Microsoft said.

Additional publishers and titles participating in the Season Pass program will be announced in the coming months, Microsoft said.

Sony has not announced a similar plan for the PlayStation 4.

AWW SHIT!!!! But when they do, will they be copying MS then? Huh?

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

That's nice, seems like they want to transition to be as easy as possible. Now if only it worked for games

Damn, you caught me ;)

Ryse looks gorgeous from a graphical perspective, but I'm not yet sold on the gameplay. I'm interested to see footage from Gamescom.

If I pick it up at some point, it will be after it has dropped in price a bit. I've got too many other next-gen games that are higher priority (Halo, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, The Witcher 3, Destiny, and maybe The Division, too).

Microsoft confirmed that they would not prevent people from importing

I know people will ask "what about digital games?",i think people can go ask MS for first party games, any 3rd parties for 3rd party games(since MS is not the one control all 3rd party games will be ip locked of not)

For Xbox Live-come on,it's not like MS suddenly forget Xbox One need online once before it can works, worst case should be you need create or change your region to like US,UK etc before the console release in your country

I want to like Ryse, but the combat needs to have greatly improved for me to buy.
