Forums - Microsoft - Xbox Empire - New thread up soon!

Launchworks will surely reveal an Arcade game. WTF they've been doing since '13?

Hololens teams must have a protoype of some kind to show.

I can't really see what kind of genres these new studios will work on. They've been more secretive than a certain company on their DRM plans.

what do you expect with 7-8 million less install base.

Its actually 9-10 Million less :P  But no worries, i understand what youre saying :)

So ill be out for much of the day again, a heads up for shika.  If you want to change the poll while im out maybe ask Raven or another mod to change it and they probably will.

Until then, maybe we should think of ideas to what to put on our avatar this year to hype up E3 xD

I really want to see Black Tusk's work, they have a few EPIC vets and I want to see the progress made on Gears.

On second thought I'm must looking forward to Rare shutting up all their critics.

For me its def Rare and Black Tusk as well xD  I also want t the new Mass Effect and Uncharted too

Rare will do something grand to kind of prove (themselves?), that they still have their mojo.
I'm excited about Black Tusk as well. Gears 1-3 used to have ~50 man teams. Now, BT has over 100 COG and Locust soldiers ready to crunch and draw.

but that is totally not the point like I said before. It is not about the installbase. Even here in this thread we have a JRPG fanbase.

Again PS2 dominated Xbox with like 6 times selling better still Wrpg fans would choose for Xbox, and WRPG fans would choose for Xbox 360 but why for Xbox one?  Xbox not getting popular for the JRPG fanbase fine because it is hard for MS to do so but for WRPG fans? Why would MS abandon them aswell?

The reason why WRPG games like Risen and possible Arcania this year skip Xbox one is because MS simply no cares. Ask Maximrace to go to the Larian studios devs who made Divinity dragonis for Xbox 360 exclusive. They will tell him that MS contacted them to get the game on Xbox 360 and have it exclusive like many other Wrpgs like Witcher and Risen.  They will also tell him that this generation MS not contacted them and that is why some Wrpg's will probably not come to Xbox one.

Sorry I don't understand someone can be so defensive that even losing exclusives from a popular Xbox genre is fine.

There was no concious process in this of me, thinking I was buying them for WRPGs, but I bought my OG xbox partially for Marrowind and The Knights of the Old Republic. And I bought my 360 because I thought Mass Effect would be a 360 exclusive (the other game was Bioshock,  Halo, and Gears too). #truth Not only that, the Witcher 2 was one of my favorite games on 360. I am very happy it came to 360 because otherwise I never would have tried it if it remained PC only.

*sigh* Some of you guys, how can you not tell that a large amount of Xbox's former RPG fanbase hasn't returned this generation?

Dragon Age is the perfect example:

Dragon Age Origins Xbox 360: 2.53m
Dragon Age Origins All Platforms: 4.8m
Dragon Age Origins ratio: 52% Xbox 360

Dragon Age Inquisition Xbox One: 0.65m
Dragon Age Inquisition Xbox One + Xbox 360: 1.03m
Dragon Age Inquisition All Platforms: 3.37m
Dragon Age Inquisition ratio: 19% Xbox One, 30% Xbox family

So Dragon Age's ratio on Xbox has fallen from 52% to 30%, and that's including 360.

Here's another example, Final Fantasy:

Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360: 2.12
Final Fantasy XIII all platforms: 7.39
Final Fantasy XIII ratio: 28% Xbox 360

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Xbox One: 0.07m
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD all platforms: 0.54m
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD ratio: 12% Xbox One

So Final Fantasy ratio on Xbox has fallen from 28% to 12%.

Yes, the increased amount of digital sales this generation does factor into this somewhat, as does the fact that PS4 is selling better than Xbox One overall. However, you can clearly see that other genres haven't declined as sharply as RPG has, for instance CoD's ratio has only declined from 47% for Black Ops II to 39% for Advanced Warfare, and Madden's ratio has only declined from 48% for Madden 12 to 43% for Madden 15.

But especially Madden and CoD got huge campaigns on XBO, heck, XBO is even the official console of the NFL. Without that the ratios of these two games would be also much lower now I suppose.

What studio are you all most excited to see at E3? Doesnt matter if its First party or third party, who do you all want to see the most?

definitely rare, mainly because i've no clue what theyre going to show and i just want them to silence the critics already.

going with scalebound on this one simply because....dragons.

How can you exclude EA ACCESS, that is only on XB1.  EA has stated that EA ACCESS has been very successful, so I would assume those who played it 5 days early and enjoyed a 10% discount went with the digital copy.

In terms of FF, that has always been a playstation game.
