To be fair though, Halo 1 and 2 were both on the original xbox, pre-HD era pretty much.  Those games pretty much needed complete visual makeovers, while Halo 3 and Halo 4 didn't get it.  So, I guess same situation for Gears 1 remaster. 

Halo 3 needed it too tbh. It looked pretty bad compared to everything else in that collection. Also, idk when you last played the first Gears, but I did with a friend not too long ago and I can tell you it is a quite dark, colorless affair. I mean fair enough it had a much darker tone than the other games, but it is seriously like 100% grey, which isn't entirely pleasant to me now.

Besides, if it's just a standard remaster then there is absolutely 0 excuse for it only being the first game. Then you need the collection. If it's a full remake with engine overlay you can do one, and it's cool, but just one game basically plain ported.....I'm not paying for that

Honestly, the only reason why I think they're possibly only releasing the first game is because Gears 4 is supposedly borrowing a ton from the dark roots of the original and they want to go back to what made the mp pvp so great in the first place.  But I mean if you're not up for such a remaster then I won't argue with you.

Its too early to assume if it is a remaster or anniversary. Its only in internal beta where people arent exactly allowed to talk about it. We are getting bits and pieces of information but that is about it.

I also received information about the game a day ahead of everybody from a source I am not allowed to name. He said it was Gears of War Anniversary, but that may have just been his way of telling me what the game was.

Idk, a friend of mine was just telling me that she's a Spartan, which I didn't know at all. Dunno what her feelings are towards the whole thing, but either way that's a pretty fascinating detail to me. I mean to start Halo 4 ONI is interrogating Halsey about her Spartans, now ONI is hunting Chief.....and the person in charge of all this is one of said Spartans? That's a big deal

I could see that. Just think it adds an interesting layer to the story
